I'm with you on the black designo seats in the ED1s (although apparently they weren't called designo - none of the 2015 C's "officially" had designo). The C63S that I spent the better part of a Saturday with, was an ED1 with those seats, they are sick.

My main concern is that the car shows up without them. There are a couple threads in the W205 AMG forum where the OP ordered the performance seats and got the sport seats instead. They ultimately didn't except delivery and got a new build spot...

Rebooting this build process would seriously suck

Yeah, I think the key will be checking this with Mercedes internal decoder.
I agree that it would seriously suck if the build is incorrect and another build slot would be required. Hopefully the build is correct or they add the multi media package in error for no charge instead of the garmin map pilot or the light package.

If the build is way-off I would probably select something off the lot.

tMoney and I should be seeing something soon.

I was charged $2075 for Freight and PDI. But there was a $395 admin fee plus all of the Ontario fees and tax. My dealer also charges for a full tank of gas and wanted to include anti theft stickers (which I declined).

First Dealer Inventory C450 Located

From the D4 (READY TO DELIVER) status, the car is loaded onto a truck at the VPC (Vehicle Processing Center). At that point, Mercedes will automatically add the car to the dealer's inventory.

Here is the first dealer inventory C450 that I have seen:

http://www.mbwestminster.com/new-Wes...WF6EB7GU104758

We should start seeing the others soon...

It looks like things are moving along. It should not be long now if they are releasing the vehicles from the Baltimore VPC. It is only a 2-hour trip from Baltimore to Philly. I was originally hoping to pick-up the car on Friday 9/11. Maybe that is still a possibility.

So much for my hopes that the Premium II would drop in price based on the MB Westminster MSRP in your link. I don't get why P2 is so expensive. On the C300 for $2,120 premium package includes:
  • LED Headlamps
  • Burmeister Sound
  • Sirius XM Radio
  • Keyless Go

The Keyless go stand alone option is listed as $550 on the C300 ... So the lights must be free?

$55,900 is base MSRP here in Canada, with a lot of standard equipment. I got mine for $63,990 with basically everything (premium package, HUD, active LED, AMG leather seats, AMG performance steering wheel and 19" wheels

That's like $48,500 in US dollars. I'm happy for you, but it sucks for us. I wonder why MB cars are so much less expensive in Canada?

I guess MB doesnt adjust based on foreign exchange rates and the USD has just gotten 30% stronger since a year earlier. Before I believe the USD/CAD ratio was about .90 now its like .76 if MB were to based the price on USD's strength I don't think it would get much sales in most countries

I hear what you're saying, but I'm not sure it fully computes in my pea-sized brain!

Couldn't someone in the US come to Canada and purchase a C class then drive it back into the US and register it here? Or would that not be possible?

Not sure if there is a way to side step this process, but it seems painful:

Based on the link you provided, it's certainly possible to purchase a car in Canada and bring it home. I'm not going to do that, but it is doable.

Thanks!

I wonder what they would do about the headlights being different (less reflectors in the Canadian headlights compared to the US)?

You cannot buy a new car in Canada with a US address and US drivers license. Any new car sold in Canada, have to be registered in Canada, and can only be imported in to the US after a 6 months waiting period. For used cars, there are no such restrictions

Autopal's got it right. Mercedes Benz doesn't want it's customers to arbitrage between countries, so it has put in restrictions like the one Autopal mentioned. An American dealer told me the same thing last year (6 month waiting period before taking a new car out of the US) when I was considering buying a new C300 (rear wheel drive) in the US last year.

Also, I was told that MBUSA won't support the warranty on a new Canadian car if the owners don't have a Canadian residence.

However, just to correct a misunderstanding, my Canadian C300 does have the orange reflectors on tshe front headlights (despite the pictures on the MB Canada website). So at least that wouldn't have to change if you want to buy a used one in a couple of years.

I'll pay the US price and get my car in October when my dealer let's me know it's arrived. Just wonder why the Canada prices are so much better?

Maybe it's a reward from the gods for the kind of winter we have here You pay a little more, we have minus 30 degrees winter! Which would you choose?

I should get a reward for having to deal with 6 months of non-stop 94+ degrees everyday, the threat of hurricanes and of course the chance of a sinkhole gobbling up our houses, streets, yards, etc. Yes I should.

You listening MBUSA? LOL
