OK that makes WAY more sense. I just couldn't believe that they would do such a thing in a the big boy E

Yeah, the big buzz option on the E63 S is the drift mode, but if you take a close look at the 4MATIC+, it really produces a RWD vehicle that only pushes torque to the front when it is absolutely necessary. So ~100% of the 627 lb-ft of torque is getting directed to the rear wheels most of the time. This definitely makes for an interesting transmission problem.

It will be interesting to see what the plan is for the 4MATIC+... does it replace the 4MATIC in AMG vehicles or is it just an E63 niche?

I haven't experienced the DCT's in MB's like the C63 and four cylinder 45's but I've heard that they aren't near as good as the other german ones I mentioned above so I guess I get where you're coming from if that's the case. MB just needs to stop trying to compete with ZF in this department and partner up with them instead of producing their own sub-par in house units.
Exactly, I have no idea why they invest so heavily in making their own subpar transmissions. ZF have perfected a quick responding and smooth 8 speed while MB is still bumbling around with rough shifting transmissions.

So I ordered Weistec DP's on Wednesday. Zach gave me my UPS tracking number for them and said he was shipping them out on Thursday, but when I checked it today, it's "invalid". WTF? And I won't even be able to contact them til most likely Tuesday

UPS likely hasn't processed the tracking number yet due to the holidays. Happens to me all the time.

I thought that might be the case, but it really isn't "the holidays" right now. Monday will be for them but not Friday, and not today. Not only that, it should have been scanned and tracked a couple times by now and show a physical location. Not just processed.

I'm sure it's nothing major. But I wait and see.

I would love to hear any feedback on this too. ECU flash isn't an option for me right now. I would love to find a piggyback that would nudge the HP and TQ above 400 while not mucking with every-day drivability.

My feelings exactly. I just don't hear much buzz about the $379 Burger piggy-back for the C450.

I'm holding out hope a Dinan piggy-back comes out for the C450 in 2017. I've already asked Dinan twice about any progress on the C450, and the last response I received was they were still looking for a test vehicle out there on the west coast.

i might bite the bullet and order one, after all it's just $380. i'll check around for a dyno shop around my area to take the car for before and after pulls.

my only issue is that they have the tune for the car but no dyno sheets. so how did they know the tune is good.

i just know their jb4 tune for the BMW community was a huge game changer. my friend has their latest tune on his 550 and the car is a monster.

I don't recall which piggyback it was, but some posters here said the crackles went away as the ECU learned from the new piggyback. Technically, the crackles are an inefficiency in the fuel delivery system that the piggyback fixes. I don't remember if it was the Berger or Vivid unit, but my guess would be both since they both work the same way.

is there any dyno info on the Vivid unit?

i did notice the e43 amg, which uses the same engine as the c43, has 396hp. can we copy the ecu tune that engine has and apply it to ours?

found this -

off topic question - how do we get to the Comand screen shown in the video?

The e43 has the same engine BUT it has larger turbos.. so the e43 tune won't work for the c43 unfortunately

Under the dynamic control settings there is an option for engine data which is what you saw on the video, or vehicle data to see a lateral g meter.

From what I've read, the "engine data" screen is not real time measurements. It is just pre-recorded numbers that are linked to the engines RPM's so no matter how much power you are actually making, it will always read the same.

So if anyone is going to record their gauges, record the real gauges, not the "dyno screen".

Close enough. Basically the virtual HP and TQ screen is displaying the theoretical HP/TQ for the rpm range and gear. Others have previously noted that modding the car (any W205) and increasing it's performance has no effect on the virtual gauge cluster. It still uses the same ranges no matter how much HP and TQ you add. It's just eye candy for the most part.

If by all mighty guru, your're referring to the fact that I know the difference b/t "pre-recorded numbers" and an algorithm, then you're welcome.

I recommend going with the DINAN version of the piggyback. Reason being that BMS said they have ceased development on the W205.

Haha don't act like you know anything more about an algorithm than how to spell it.
