I'm with ya brother... I talked the wife into us building a new garage... three car with a checker-board floor and nothing in it except cars.

Western PA has been known to get snow by/on Halloween, so the clock was ticking. The rubber in runflats gets rock hard at 45 degrees (any precipitation would not be pleasant to drive in). Today the low was 46.
The deciding factor was that the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 are an approved OEM replacement, so they won't effect the wheel and tire protection plan.

Hey Viper, what are you using for the carpet/paint protection? I can't really think of much to protect the carpet with except like a vacuum cleaner lol
I bought a leather conditioner which will be arriving tomorrow, so it'll be my car's pampering day haha

I was okay with this as long as it didn't change the appearance and feel of the carpet... after the application, the look and feel of the carpet was the same, so all is good.

Love the new plans for the garage. A checkered floor is the only way to go! Mine is small but the C450 has a nice home.

I always get the Mercedes all season rubber mats immediately. I store the carpet mats until I trade the car in. The all season mats are great, can simply be hosed off and just never show any signs of wear. The mats in my now 4 year old E350 couple look as new today as they did the day I got the car.

My road test of the C450 was great. I was driving together with an AMG pilot but on open road.
First impression the suspensions is very comfortable, a real Mercedes style.
Switch to Sport+, everything changes, the suspensions changes completely and becomes stiff, direction is more precise but stays a bit soft compared to an Audi. The sound is just amazing !! I opened the sunroof to hear it better and it is really well prepared.
I still hate the navigation screen even with the wider model. It just looks overplaced and doesn't direct to the driver. You have to slide a bit on the right to see it well... Really a bad choice of design /ergonomy in such a great car.
I had the normal seats (not performance) and they are great.
The sport wheel (not optional AMG) is also great and is small and thick enough for a sporty car.
Paddles are nice using and looking but they are not fix like in real sports cars, but doesn't matter too much.
The sunroof is fantastic, very wide and rear seats can benefit from the light. this is extremely rare in todays sedans.
The trunck is OK but not great. It's surface is not regular and you loose some volume because of the curvy shape. There is also an ugly thing in the upper part probably because of the bass box of the Burmaster.
All in all, great car and I really look forward to find the good deal.

My New C450
I have been driving my C450 for 2 days and could not be happier. It took me some time to change settings to my liking because I am not familiar with the MB Command system, but with some much needed help & experimentation I am about there.I love the style especially the interior, but the driving experience is perfect for me.When I was younger I would have bought the C63,but at my advanced age(75) I am satisfied with the performance level of the C450.I guess I mellowed a bit in the past few years.I have already customized the driving dynamics which I am sure I will change a few times.I am a believer of a fast and somewhat agressive break.I do not drive highways at steady speeds, but drive rural roads with stops and turns to keep a continuous variation in RPMS.I believe this seats the rings better.I will update with more info later.

I went through the opti-coat video (http://opti-coat.net/) and at least for the paint protection, it seems like it works the same (heating the clear coat and bonding with it). I would suspect that the carpet protection works the same (but like you said, who really cares about that aspect).
My biggest concern is the leather protection. Here is the stuff that I had done: http://www.totalsystemstechnology.co...V2%20(JBK).pdf. I am still waiting on the cleaner/conditioner/removal sticks and some addition info. Not sure from the video, if opti-coat's leather care works the same way as the TST product. Any idea what the opti-coat cost is?

I've been hearing good reviews on them from various forums and I think Autogeek did a tutorial on the cleaning with Wolfgang here on MBWorld in another thread.
Just wondering if anyone else here can give an input on it. I'm planning to use it for the seats only. I think dash only needs an occasional wipe with a lightly moist microfiber cloth.

Hi y'all. First of all, I've been reading this thread for months, so thanks to all the contributors for a lot of great info.
I don't have the pictures, but I've seen white C450's both with and without night package 2 in person, and I have to say, in my opinion the one with the night package looked better. Having only two colors on the exterior (black/white vs. black/white/silver) makes the car more stylish and serious, plus, it gives it that cool "empire stormtrooper" look. I'm about to place an order on my C450 and I'm definitely going with that combo (have also considered black before). Overall, the builder tools on German and American sites give you a pretty good idea of what it looks like in real life.

Yes, but you can't see neither the front apron nor the rear diffuser that the night package adds in this pic.
Here's a couple of pictures of a white C450 without the night package, the one with it can seen in this listing: http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...10831403&Log=0
