Rear fog light?

When I press the button for the rear fog light, only the rear drivers fog light lights up. Is this correct? Is there only supposed to be one light on one side?

It's intentional, so the fog light is not confused with the brake lights and so that someone from behind can more easily identify the drivers side of the vehicle.

I noticed the single fog light at the same time my drivers door handle LED failed. I thought all the LEDs would soon fail. The dealer explained how the fog light works. Many other have had the same initial concerns. There are many discussions on the internet.
