I noticed a louder wind noise in my new C300 (mfg. 3.15) than from my 2014 ML on a road trip this week. It is SIGNIFICANTLY reduced when I enabled the A/C RECIRC. The excessive wind noise went away. So is it a filter change or a way the intake is positioned. Let me know if those with wind noise try this and noticed a difference.

I'll be sure to try that with the rather minor wind noise I hear.

Thanks for your advice, and I will check to see if it works for my c300.

Definitely!! The air intake on recirc. cuts a lot of the noise.
This noise though many complain of is different, very localized to about a 3 inch stretch in the upper driver/passenger window/door. As though there's no seal there. As well documented, is improvable by new seals...or better yet...new seals and acoustic glass installed.
Just want to chime in my experience. Although a different car but it experienced similar problem.
Had an acura RSX with no whistle noise problem until it was completely repainted due to hail damage. After the repaint, there was whistle noise on the passenger side window. The guy simply pulled out the molding around the window and reinstalled it. The noise disappeared after. Maybe the molding was pressed in too tightly leaving a very small gap between it and the window? It's just a guess.
I wondering if we should send these wind noise threads along with proof to the media/blogs. If MBUSA isn't going to listen to us individually then I'm sure they'll notice if Edmunds, Autoblog, etc. pick up on this.
I had a 2011 Macbook Pro with a graphics card issue that Apple refused to recognize, but as a community we contacted the media, blogs, started FB groups and a change.org petition until finally Apple decided to fix everyone's computer for free and refund costs for whoever paid out of pocket.

I think anything we can do to attract media attention to this issue might help to get MBZ on board with coming up with a fix. All of our complaints haven't seemed to get their attention as their reps keep saying "this is the first I've heard of this".
well i asked my salesman about it and he said he's heard of it...he claims from blogs, but i dont think so, im sure there are official memos all around MB
Since my Mercedes dealer refuses to fix wind noise problem, they still claimed that there is no noise issue on my 2015 C300.
I will record wind noise in my 2015 C300, and post audio file to this forum soon.

Worse yet, my rep told me that the wind noise is "normal" and the result of "design characteristics"! Each time I said "design flaw", he was quick to correct me with "design characteristic". Finally, I asked him are you telling me that MB designed this car to have wind noise? Got silence for a moment, then some more babble about they all sound that way, therefore it's normal and we won't fix it.
if someone puts together something like the Apple example, please let me know because I'm in 100%.
So yesterday I was on the highway and other routes for about an hour, it was a windy day here in Belgium. I turned off the radio to listen to the ambient noise.
The biggest noise was road noise, then engine noise. Sometimes I could hear some faint wind noise but really lower than either road noise or engine noise...
A few of my friends and relatives have commented on how quiet this car is, so it's not just me being deaf...

Well, I've had my C300 for exactly 1 week and have done a couple of jaunts past 80 Mph and the most I hear is road noise. I have no obtrusive wind noise and I haven't experienced high crosswinds either.
My wife has commented on how quiet the car is without being privy to the wind noise discussions on these boards, so I am guessing either we both have hearing problems or I lucked out.
I hope those of you experiencing the excessive wind noise problem get a resolution as that would have ruined the experience for me.

Correct, you won't hear anything until you're over 70/80 mph and or drive in cross winds.

Maybe I'm just lucky?
Lucky! Seems this plagues the US build cars more than the others. Florida coast with a 25-30mph breeze on the side adds lot of noise that would over-run your stereo system, you'd think door not shut tight.
Either way, the car, mother nature kind to you with tail winds, your ears, luck, whatever, if you're enjoying it, what does it matter, right?
I had just installed the silencer around the car body where it meets the door panel and also between the front and back door and it works!
It reduced the wind noises by over 80%. The car is all good and quiet now.

Interesting. A) You shouldn't have had to B) There is a set of seals on the door side that match this configuration C) Where are these seals from?
Thing is, at least on mine, there is a seal on the top inside and outside of the door, then a seal on the inner face of the door, then a seal on the car body. Yet still we get noise. Its either a duff seal set or its coming from somewhere else on mine.
Judging by the amount of seals on mine, it should be super quiet, which it is, until a crosswind or 65mph+
The problem with the wind noises is at the gap between the front and back door when it closed. If you blow straight through that gap, you will hear the sound because there is no seal at that location. It is the same around the door. Basically, the connection is between the car body which is metal against the rubber. This silencer replacing that connection to rubber and rubber which is much more quiet. From what the supplier told me, only BMW 7 Series and S Class come with this kind of silencer.
This silencer is called Stuffit in Thailand and it cost 120 USD to install 4 doors and the 2 posts and it works.

Surely if that was the case you'd need additional panel level seals on the leading edge of the door as well as the gap between the front and back doors, possibly also on the trailing edge of the back door? I've had other cars without the level of seals available on the C class never mind the extra level you mention and they've not had this level of wind noise.

Well due to my OCD I took the car out for a run tonight. It was 70mph before I heard any wind noise at all (a slight whoosh over the car) otherwise total quiet. I had to push it a little more before it became more noticeable but at no time did I hear the flutter and buffeting I have before so it's definitely a weather related issue as there is little to no wind this evening. I suspect this is specially a windy day or cross wind issue for me.
