Hey Guys
First i would like to say Hello to everyone. I've been lurking this forum for a few weeks now. Finally got my C300 2 days ago. Amazing car. Thanks for the helpful posts and great information you guys provide to newbies like my self.

I'm from Canada so the packages are different then the US and EU. What i have is the C300 sports pack and Premium with partial led. I didn't get the premium plus because the only option i wanted with that package was the keyless entry and for me it wasn't worth the price... So i thought lol

The premium plus comes with Parktronic and assist.. is this the only way to have parking sensors? aren't they standard? I get no notification when I'm parking if i am to close to a wall or something.

Thanks

Just looked at a Canada PDF for the C Class and they do seem to be lacking spec as standard compared to EU.

C300 v C400

PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist • •
Rear view camera • ▲

▲ Standard equipment
Δ Optional equipment
• Optional as part of a package
– Not available

See page 34 which details what comes with each pack - i take it you have the camera but no audio bleeps ?

Hey Driver
Thanks for the reply. Thats correct i have the Cam but no audio beeps.
Honestly its not the parallel parking I'm worried about.. the cam is good and its a small back.
I am still trying to adjust to the length of the front lol.. coming from a smaller car.. I see a lot of hood haha

I'll have a look at your link.. greatly appreciated

One other thing you might want to look at it..
What I have noticed with my front a rear parking sensors, is that they don't start beeping until your right on the wall at the closest point.
Every other car I have ever owned, beeps from some distance and the beeping gets faster/closer the closer you get to the wall/object, not with the W205, which I find weird.. is this a Mercedes thing, or a new W205 thing?

Not sure Digital.. its my first Mercedes . With my infiniti it was like you described it. The closer you got the faster the beep.

Canadian owner here with premium plus and my sensors beep and beep faster as you get closer to an obstacle.

I agree that it's hard to figure out what actually comes stock in the Canadian version of the vehicle. They really make you dig and compare to figure it out.

I have the premium package and get no beeping when I get too close to an object. When I hit the wall that's how I know I went too far.

No, it's an MB thing - my current car (2010 W204) is exactly the same, the Amber Segments clock up from about 3feet, only when you get about 15 inches away does the bleeping start, with the first (of 2) Red bars. On the second the beeps become a constant wail.

I guess it is "conditioning" from other marques that make us assume the beeping is related to first detection and proximity related to speed of beeping. The MB solution is fine provided: a) you remember to monitor the visual aid when reversing/entering a tight space, and b) don't reverse too quickly - otherwise you'll get a bit of a shock

On the positive side, at least MB turn on the front sensors automatically, our Audi is auto in reverse, but you need to fiddle with a horribly positioned button, going forwards - now THAT really does catch me out, as I am used to my car, so I'm conditioned to looking at the display..... (Having forgotten to switch the damn thing on!)

They don't start buzzing until your about 30cm away.

There is a rear LED light in the rear roof

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you need the 6 sensors up front and six in the rear which would be part of the Parktronic package in order to get the audible beeps when getting too close to an object. If you just have two sensors up front and two in the rear you will not get any audible sounds. See yellow highlight on page 199 of the owners manual.

You apparently must subscribe to MBeep to get audible warnings.
