Side Mirror Cover Replacement

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum, and I recently picked up my C400 in polar white. It's my first benz / my frst car, and I am absolutely loving it. I'm not a big fan of the painted white mirror covers, so I bought a pair of CF ones. Now here my question, I have no clue on how to install/uninstall the mirror cover, if anyone who knows how to do it can shed some light on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Is it just some CF covers or is it a full housing replacement? If its just caps you should be able to install using some 3M automotive double sided tape. I'm sure there are some YouTube videos out there detail some specific steps.

Fold mirror glass forward, use a small hook or similar to pry open one of the plasic tabs locking the glass into place on the setting motor, pull the glass firmy but gently outwards until it snaps out.
This is the hard part, pry the glas outwards and insert your fingers to expand the gap, you need to be firm and careful as the glass will shatter it done wrong, if you have auto dimming mirrors the drivers side mirror is very expencive.

Now you can see plastic locking tabs holding the mirrror cover, you need to unhook at least three while pulling the cover forward slighty upwards.

Hmm, I've been wanting a pair of CF side mirror housings as well...but I think after what Vic just said, I'll get a pair of covers instead!

Its a 5 minute job if you have done it before, leave it to a dealer if you dont want to risk breaking something, a new housing looks so much better than just a cover.

Thanks Vic, for the instructions. I've successfully installed the mirror covers. The process was pretty straight forward, I didnt use any tool, it took me about 10 mins to do both sides. My CF ones dont come with LED turn signal lights, so I had to take off my stock LED and put them on the CFs. Just have to becareful of not breaking anything by using too much of force. Heres a snap shot. Thanks again everyone!

CF mirror covers

Where did you get them? Do you have better pictures, preferably in sunlight?
Thanks!

Can you post some pics from further away? Would be nice to see how they make the car look as a whole.

Here's a pic taken with my cellphone.

My plan is to wrap all chrome parts in gloss black, and replace the grille with c450 oem grille once that become available. I believe those will play nicely with the CF mirrors and spoiler.

I'll upload more pics later.

I have damaged my cover and need to fit a replacement - don't suppose you could post step by step instructions, maybe even with pictures, showing how to get the cover off please?/

ive done this, removal is very simple. Pop out the mirror glass, use a trim removal tool to unclip the plastic retaining tabs and the cover pulls away.

Thanks. Does the mirror glass simply unclip if I pull it backwards?
