It remembers your last used setting for 4 hours, after that it defaults to comfort mode, no way to change that

My car resets to Comfort as soon as it's started, after any amount of time being off.

May be a euro thing (I'm in the UK) but I read this in the online manual and confirm it is the case in practice ie I've got back in the car in just under 4 hours and it remembers the last setting (I usually use the user definable setting), after 4 hours it reverts to comfort setting.

You should add at least your country to your profile so we have an idea where you are located. The specs are different for each country, so it is really tough to figure anything out unless we know which market area you're in. Even in North America, where all C-Class sedans are now coming out of the same Alabama plant, the specs are very different for the Canadian and US markets.

There was another thread about this a while ago, and I remember some European and Australian owners were reporting the 4 hour retention of Agility settings. In North America, the settings are lost as soon as the car is turned off.

It's so annoying to have to reset the agility to the setting you prefer each time you get in the car! You would think this would be one of the key things Mercedes would figure out to make the experience of the car more comfortable and less annoying....

Stan

I can confirm that in the UK market it retains the last user setting (ie Sport, Sport+, Individual) for 4 hours after switch off.

After 4 hours it reverts to Comfort.

I wonder how the start up sounds if the car is set at Sport+.
Would it sound different than the default Comfort mode start up?

Maybe they'll release a software update that allows the car to memorize settings such as modes and the Eco on/off.

you can just put the car in ACC mode (push the start button without the foot on the brake) and put it in sport+ and then turn it on...should maintain the sport+ setting. havent tried it though

EDIT: push it twice without your foot on the brake

i just tried it and it works

I'm not sure I understand the advantage of this over simply starting the car and selecting your Agility mode. It still reverts to Comfort when you turn the car off, doesn't it?

I was told that in the US, the car was certified by the EPA/DOT at the Comfort Level and is set as default to satisfy those requirements. He stated that Comfort Level was used as more close to the "real world" environment these cars would operate in. Big Brother is in control I guess

theres no advantage, i think it's just a way to see if the startup exhaust note has much of a difference than comfort (which it doesnt, at least from inside the car)

but if you have an aftermarket exhaust or some cars may have an active exhaust, this could be a way to make it sound good upon startup

Why not adapt comfort mode with sport settings? This way, the car will always start in sporty settings, but as comfort mode (just as a profile name).

i believe all settings in each mode (other than Individual) revert back to their original settings after some time.

i tried this with the auto-start-stop function and found it to just be turned back on in the Agility select the next time i drove the car (dont remember how long i let it sit)

You can not modify the preset parameters in any mode except Individual. Individual allows you to specify your settings and it remembers them, but the car, in the U.S. Version, always starts in Comfort mode.

not true, exactly. my post above explains a little...

you ARE able to edit the other Agility modes, they just go back to normal after the next time you turn the car on. so you can edit Eco mode to have Sport steering but everything else normal Eco when you start the car, so your whole trip to work/school/etc is set that way.

that way you dont have to go and edit every single parameter of Individual every time you want a small change
