MBWorld Fanatic!
Sorry for the late reply, been away for the last week. I think I ended up paying more than the recent quotes on the thread, but "full front" might also mean different things to different installers (e.g., headlights included?, partial or full fenders?) I paid around $1,500 or so for the front bumper, headlights, hood, full front fenders, and mirrors. Not cheap for sure.. but it was the only place that was also a qualified CQuartz finest installer (applied to non-film parts) within 200 miles from me.

Hi Guys,
I have been looking to fit 3M Scotchguard Pro, and called one of Sydneys (Australia) leading fitters.
They said that they mostly supply and fit SUNTEK which gives similar performance. Apparently Scotchguard Pro is about 30% more.
I plan on full bonnet, bar and front guards plus mirrors, possibly door cups.
Do you see any reason not to do the headlights?
Any one have comments on 3M Pro versus SunTek?
My 13year old C220cdi has plenty of stonechips as I drive the motorway every day, (approx 100km @ 100km/h ~60mph) and the bar and bonnet has copped a fair share.
Odd stone chips on the mirrors, which started to peel. Poor initial paint prep from the factory back in 2003!
Rest of the paint has held up very well.
Keen on others thoughts here.

Suntek is the film to use, or XPEL. Suntek is easier to apply/stretch.

Mate, don't bother with 3M Scotchguard Pro. 3M Australia have set a very high price for no reason. They have been told many times to match the market. They know it's not priced right. It offers nothing over the others.

Who in Sydney does XPEL?

I did a self-install of 3M Scotchguard Pro Series last spring on my Acura MDX - did 12 inches of hood/fenders, full bumper, both mirrors, four door handle cups and the rear bumper below the liftgate. It was my first time applying this stuff.
It is very hard to install properly. I am overall satisfied with my install, but there are certain spots where I played with it too much and the adhesive lost its oomph on the edges. Dirt got underneath the film on those edges and is stuck there, now. Not overly noticeable but it bothers me a bit.
The product itself is fantastic, just make sure it is installed by a reputable and experienced shop if you want 100% perfect results...

Thanks.
I will be going with Xpel in a couple of weeks.
Washed the car only twice since I have had it and already found a small stonechip on the bar.
Copped a big stone hit on the windscreen and that has chipped but not cracked luckily.
Has anyone had a polish applied on top of their PPF?

With only planning to keep my car for 3 years, I'm really torn on whether I should have my front end wrapped or not. I'm just going to trade it back in to the dealership, but Ohio roads are pretty terrible and I've always noticed rock chips on my other cars. Just not sure the cost is worth it when I'm offloading it after 3 years.

TBH, 3years is nothing, you will not get noticeable rock chips on your car, enough for the dealer to start decreasing your trade in value based on that alone. After 3500 miles in my C450 (Sept delivery) I have a total of 3 pinhead sized rock chips...I think me skipping wax due to laziness made it worse, if it was nicely waxed it could've been more minimal. I am planning to keep this car until the wheels fall off or until they release a 4matic C63.
Will leave more cash for tint, radar detector, tune, maybe exhaust. Maybe nothing. Who knows.
