It is listed as one of the best new cars for 2015, and noted that it is a formidable competitor to the BMW 3 series.
CR has not yet posted reliability ratings for the car. Given the slew of issues the car has had, especially on early builds, I would doubt it will wind up being recommended regardless of how high it scores in their ratings. It will be interesting to see if the car makes even an average reliability rating, although I really expect to see a below average rating for the first year ... especially based on problems being reported online.
I certainly do agree that the W205 is an exceptional car and deserves all the accolades it has already gotten. It seems to have been released in its beta testing form but, hopefully, that is now history.

I myself don't hold CR to be the gospel in the auto world. I quit subscribing to them in the late 80's when they thought if it was Asian it was perfect and everything else was junk.

Their subscribers may, in fact, represent a non-typical cross section of car owners, but the results are based entirely on owner feedback. Generally, they have been reasonably indicative of a given car's problem areas.

Back in the 80's, just about everything coming out of Detroit was crap, and Japan was kicking our butts with their more dependable & higher quality vehicles.

I loved my blue-on-blue '88 Integra with the flip-up headlights, all 118 horses of her!
Beat the daylights out of the garbage American cars of the time. American cars have made big strides, though, recently.
