Map Update
Maybe an important question. Did your car come with 3 years of free updates for the maps? That might be an issue.
So far all my requests for a map update for my c400 2015 are met with : there are no updates and they aren't free ( us offer not applicable in Canada ) !!!

"Learn more about the Multi-Year Update Program which includes three years of complimentary map updates. (Not available in Canada)"
It would appear on this issue MB is lagging behind BMW and Audi, both have updated to new systems that can be updated without going to the stealership.

I have the Garmin Map Point, and just updated it to the latest available on the internet, via Mercedes Download Manager, which is for the Programs, V6.0 SW28.18 Build 16/03.00.
All fine until here. Then I have the Europe Maps 2014 V2.0, and it tells me that there is a new update available, 2015 (v5.0) Europe (16332MB). But it is telling me that there is no sufficient Space on the SD CARD. The card itself is of 16Gb, so seems normal. What can I do?

Since then I've been to my dealers service twice. Once in April of 16 for my A service and then on July 1st due to my Command system freezing up. On this occasion they did update my Command software.
On both occasions, I've asked for my free Navigation update as I understand version 5.1 is available. They do not argue me on getting my free update, but both times they have stated that no update is available for my car. They said they checked the VMI for my VIN and no nav update was listed.
Does this make sense if version 5.1 is out there? Is there some specific language I need to use to have them check in the "right" place - or is a call to Mercedes my next step?
Thanks for any advice!!

My car is in service right now and they told me that the "option code" for free updates is not checked on my build. I guess I should just call them on their BS. Mine is Nov 2014 build (if I remember correctly) and I have Command so it certainly falls within the 3yrs.
Is there any way I can show that I should get free updates? Is the window sticker the only way (one previous poster mentioned the sticker).
EDIT: After some further search, it seems that I just have to tell the SA to do some darn research and realize that 3yrs of updates are included in purchase. Pretty weird/frustrating that there are SA's who still don't know this. The threads I've been searching on the topic are almost 1yr old.

.. and check for code 502 (3 years of map updates free of charge).
I just read this whole thread looking for answers on why my SA would tell me that I do qualify for 3 years of free map updates.. and now I understand that several people on this thread have experienced similar issues, at least initially.

What Mercedes dealership gave you this BS line...was it Herb Chambers Mercedes of Boston off McGrath & O'Brien hwy?
Mercedes Benz of Burlington has always treated me like a King, and updated my NAV no questions asked.

Good to know I'm now at least two major versions out of date.
