I've seen pics of the Coupe with Saddle Brown at one of the auto shows, so it definitely existing a month or so ago. I guess we'll see.
Same combo for me, if available. Deciding between selenite and iridium silver with saddle brown (designo or not). I assume there are still a few updates to be made to the order guide along with pricing so hopefully by the end of the month we get more info.

My dealer got back to me with partial info, more details to follow. Here is what he said:

"I know it is a true dual exhaust and that’s about it. I have asked my colleagues for further information."

The C450 isn't a true dual exhaust if I recall correctly?

On the c43 configurator (mb germany), it shows the optional AMG exhaust as "AMG performance exhaust system switchable."

Then the description goes on to say: About 3 variably adjustable exhaust valves, the sound at the selected travel program adapts. In addition, the driver can change the sound characteristics of a button. So it is a maximum spread of noise, from comfortable to highly emotional, allows. (google translation).

So based on that info, it would seem that the c43 will get the switchable exhaust with button. But again, who knows until everything is final.

EDIT: And yes, the c450 was a single exhaust system.

Traditionally the Sport exhausts have been decent sounding exhausts and Performance exhaust have been great sounding...more than just a button to turn it on or off. The C450 has the Sport.
There is no doubt in my mind if amg decides to add on the performance exhaust, it will definitely sound better than the sport.

But I would rather put my money in a high quality aftermarket system.

For sure, aftermarket will definitely be superior to stock. The AWE Touring seems to sound solid at a good price...$2k installed isn't bad at all. Not sure it'll be "$800 better" than an improved version of the AMG exhaust for those who are waiting for a C43, but compared to the C450 stock exhaust it is a great option for an upgrade based on the few user videos I've seen.

A true AMG dual exhaust = 0 hp or torque increase. Hmmm...

All the talk about it being a true dual exhaust might be based on the Euro site's configurator which shows a pic of the c63 exhaust system. I remember seeing a Chris Harris review where he walked around a display of the exhaust system, pointing out the butterfly valves in the center x pipe, and then before the mufflers. This could be the 3 mode system. Which leaves me to ask, will the system designed for the c63 v8 work on a v6?

Because exhaust is all about sound and I can never understanding why people are always worried about hp increase from just the exhaust, or how noticeable a few more hp would be. If AMG wanted an extra 2, 5, 10 or 20 hp increase, they could do that very easily, especially with this car being twin turbo

I could be wrong, and I definitely hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling the C43 exhaust will not be much different than the C450's and people might be disappointed, especially those expecting it to be switchable from the centre console. I love my C450, but I gotta say I would have loved to have that 9G box

That is the c43 config site. That pic is clearly the c63 engine. I would love to take a sawzall to the exhaust, and put a pair of diverter valves before the mufflers with cutouts kicking down. But with that said, I would love that dash button with the twin pipes. Sooo badass.

When I look at it on the german site, it only shows the exhaust and tips, not the entire picture with engine (c63) that you are getting. And it shows the button on the c43 interior as well.

Of course, none of this means anything. But investigating is fun!

Let's hope for the best, but expect the worst. Things are still being updated and announced so only time will tell. I am going to speak with my salesman too and see if he has any info as well, just to add datapoints.

Here's why I'm not optimistic about the switchable exhaust button. It's hard to imagine AMG would have that option in the C43 sedan, and don't have it in the other '43s. I know for a fact the SLC43 and GLC43 don't have a switchable exhaust, and I don't believe the E43 has it

Do the E63 and SL63/65 offer it as an option? A quick look on the MBUSA builder and I didn't see it anywhere, but I don't know for certain. If it isn't an option on the full fledged AMGs, it would explain why it isn't on the 43 AMGs.

It would not be an option on those, because the switchable exhaust debut on the W205 C63. The older models like the existing E63 would not have it.

Well, if it's only available on the C class AMG, it would make perfect sense why it's not an option on non-C Class (E and SL) 43's...at least it does to me, but I know nothing so I could be totally off.

All I know is that if the Performance Exhaust makes an inline 4 sound like this, I want to wait for it for the C43's V6TT. Hopefully MB will hurry up with the details.

Pal, another thing I should mention. I'm with you that I'm not sold that it will have the on/off button...the GLA comes standard with a Sport exhaust that sounds okay and has an optional Performance exhaust that sounds much better. I believe the CLA is the same way. I don't think either of those have the button on the center console, but they do have the improved sound.

If I am recalling correctly, the difference is the deletion of one resonator. That gives the improved sound.

Good deal!

Also, as it pertains to the CLA45 AMG Performance Exhaust option, here is what I was able to find (it's primarily a resonator delete with a few other changes).

The cla45 does come with a selectable button. New for 2016.

It came with the MY16's according to this thread, it has a button on the dash:

http://www.mercedescla.org/forum/14-...6-cla45-4.html

But the CLA45's Performance Exhaust is the U21 part, the same as the C450 Sport Exhaust, not the U78...so that makes things even more confusing. Also, in that thread it is stated that it just decouples the exhaust valves and the drive mode selected...which the C450 can already do with Individual Mode, I believe.

Who the **** knows, I'm done caring about it for now. When my dealer gets back to me with some better info, and the early reviews come out, we will have a better line of sight. If it turns out to be different, I wait until September and get a Coupe...if it doesn't, I'll take my C450 at the end of the month and roll with a sedan.

Another exhaust option will be available soon, I reached out to GTHAUS regarding the Meisterschaft exhaust they are developing. I was told that it's ready, they are just waiting on a media launch. My guess is the price won't be as pocket friendly as AWE tuning, but we will know soon

I'm with you on that. I cannot speculate anymore, waiting for hard evidence one way or the other. Hoping that it is a better exhaust, because it would make me want to reorder.

Everyone should just wait for the C43. This is coming from a C450 owner. I love my C450 but the transmission is not as quick as I want it to be. And with the C43 3 stage ESP feature, 9G tranny and performance exhaust. Thats all the reason you need to wait for it.

I regret having gotten the car in Sept before any C43 rumor even.

I agree, and it doesn't matter how sweet the deals are now on the C450, there's a ton of C450 on dealers lot, so the price will get even better as dealers clear inventory to make way for the C43, so nothing to lose (if you can wait, that is)
