Why trade it?

Did you inherit a bunch of money? Win the lotto maybe?

I'm trying to figure out how someone with less than optimal impulse control and strategic planning ability is able to afford two $60k cars in less than 90 days.

The best trade in price you can expect is going to be about 80-85% of what you paid. This will depend on mileage, condition, and the number of badges that have been added.

It's not worth it to lose $10-12k just for 9g and exhaust. You could add the AWE touring exhaust, a high quality aftermarket combiner HUD, and a custom tune for a fraction of this and have a car that will sound just as good or better that will blow the doors off a stock C43.

But hey it's your money. While your busy throwing it away, you could send some of it to me. I promise to put it to good use

Forget about MSRP. My guess is you should lose about 20 to 25% of what you actually paid for the car

You will lose 25% of MSRP is my guess and I've had a lot of fun cars that depreciate.

I actually paid 60k for the car ... So at 25% that is 45k trade in... The c43 I'm getting almost fully loaded minus the performance seats so I figured around 70k...so is 25k a reasonable amount I'm calculating for the difference?

By the way I'm trading it in because I want Comand and HUD and driver assistance pack that I didn't get on my c450.. Plus the 9g transmission and exhaust..

I'm just looking for the best guess, I thank you for your guess.. So 43-45k is a good assumption then? I'm just trying to figure out how much money to hide from my wife.. Hopefully she won't even be able to tell its a different car since I will get the same color as the c450..she'll never notice the badges or the interior stuff since she doesn't drive my car..

Now how much is a reasonable amount they will take off the new model of the msrp is 70k??

What are you gonna do next year, IF the 2018 C43 gets a brand new, 400hp straight 6? Trade again after 1 year?

So when it's all said and done, you will have a $95k note for a $65k car. You could have just bought an E63.

My thoughts exactly, E63 > C43 and even a C63 for that matter cuz of the awd

I don't have a note.. I purchased it outright..and no I will keep this car for at least 5 years.. I just regretted not getting command and some other interior options.. Plus I'm hoping some of the interior rattles they can't track down will be corrected on the new model

I own a chain of restaurants if you must know with my family.. Considering I drive the least expensive car and least expensive house out of my brothers.. My older brother drives a Bently and my younger brother has a s550..I just want a nice c class with awd... Since they don't make the c63 awd I chose the c450 off the lot... Then I wished I got a few more options after a few weeks

So now that I told everyone my life story, could you please help me figure out how much to put aside so my wife doesn't kill me.. She would go nuts if she knew I was trading my car in for more options after 1 year.. She wants me to put a pool in the yard which I don't want..

The NET difference is all that matters.

They may give you 52K for your car but ask for sticker on the new 1. Maybe they discount theirs 10% right away but offer you 41K for your car.

The key is to get a fair discount and get as much as you can for yours (duh of course).

I would shoot for $48-49K for yours, and 10% off theirs... go from there. Also, what state are you in. Here in NJ you pay the diff... so if the new 1 stickers for $68,500 and you get it for $60K and they give you 47K.

60-47 = $13K ... you only will pay tax on 13K which is like a free 3500 bux
