Unhappy issues with navigation update on the 2015 cars?

I took my C400 for it's Service A, and asked the dealership/service center to upgrade my maps and I did hear that there were map updates.
I was told the car was ready to be picked up and when I picked up, maps had no updates!

On enquiring, I was told that an Option 502 is required for the"3 Year free map updates" and that my car didn't have that option.

I have the multimedia package which comes with COMAND and 3 years free map updates and that's what was stated when I bought the car by MB and the dealership, and I have the Option 320 which is the Multimedia Package however not the option 502, which is ridiculous.

I asked the dealership to check on another 2015 car with similar spec and they told me the same.

Does anyone have had issues upgrading the map on a 2015 w-205 with the multimedia package?

Seems to me either the dealership messed up or MB USA did! and MB USA is terrible with responding to mails and requests! anyone know's how to reach out to them?

Seems your dealer is misinformed. Contact MBUSA at: 1-800-For-Mercedes

If you still have the original window sticker, the 3 years of updates is listed on there. My dealer wasn't aware of the free up dates when I first asked. They did some checking and quickly learned the updates were included. The update takes about 1.5 hours.

I have a 2015 GLK and I have the free map updates. I had my car in at the dealer for A service on Saturday and they wouldn't do the map update. They said they need a PIN number from MBUSA and they were closed on Saturday. So I have to take the car back or let them come pick it up from my house.

Also, I DO have option 302 on my data card under the MM package details.

The same thing happened to me. The PIN or license key they need is only available during the week (not a holiday). Seems strange to me, but when I brought the car back during the week, the update was done.

Interestingly, they were able to do a COMAND update last Saturday. Unfortunately, the update failed and bricked my COMAND system. They couldn't attempt to fix it until Monday (today). The car is still at the dealership. Hopefully I'll get it back today with the most up to date COMAND software.

They told you incorrectly. They can generate a pin at any time or day within the dealer. (As long as the system is not down, which sometimes it is for maintenance on the weekend)

The only reason they would need to contact MBUSA is if the dealer never registered for access to the site to generate the PIN's.

To the OP the code 320 is a sales code. Basically you need to be sure the vehicle has 531 and 502. As long as those are present you are entitled to free updates for 3 years. If you are missing 502 for sure then something is not right.

They won't do mine today because they claim the department they need at MBUSA is closed for the holiday. Good luck! I'm wondering if I should even bother....I definitely don't want to leave my car there if the update fails.

In my case, the map update was done without a problem. It was easy once they got the license key. A week later they were updating the COMAND system when that update failed. I wouldn't worry about the map update. It doesn't seem to effect the operating system at all. I didn't even lose my previous destinations.

apparently mine doesn't have the option 502, not sure why. Haven't checked 531 though. Interestingly I saw option 815 mentioned and that says something about a COMAND DVD! The dealership said they'll check and get back to me.
1-800-for-mercedes seemed to be off today .

finally was able to get to MB USA, and able to figure it out, apparently the parts component list does show the "3 years maps free updates" and they called into the dealership too to confirm the same.
It's just ridiculous that we need to waste time because someone goofed up
