Sorry for being OT, but this picture makes it look way backheavy.

Then On-Topic.

I was thinking about getting aftermarket wheels, but if that is gonna be some kind of a project with tryout and fails...... Why bother
This is probably the big difference between MB and BMW. When I had my 320 i could easy buy a 19x9,5 to the rear and know for sure it would fit using 265/30.
Enough mambojambo from me, I think I will use spacers as mentioned here to make the wheels for aligned with the bumper.

This should be a bit conservative but should work?
Yes, these wheels will fit fine.

The Ultra Leggeras look good.

OZ make some nice rims. Here are the Formula HLTs.

Since you helped with this setup, do you mind sharing the rear offset of the wheels to get 285/30 20's to fit.

Thanks!

congratulations! Nice setup. Since you're running 285/30 20's on the rears, are you getting any rubbing issues on dips or when you have passengers?

Thanks!

Unfortunately Rotiform does not divulge offset information until a customer has placed an order. I'm sure the owner can help you out with the offset specs though

Of course. It would be total anarchy if wheel companies gave out offsets before a customer ordered. Could you maybe list three possible offsets and then let us guess which one it is?! That way you don't have to break the super secret offset disclosure rule.

GAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWDDD!!!

I need rims/tires! I need to get these stockies and snow tires off but I can't decide on what rims to get. I'm the worst at choosing rims for cars cause of my terrible indecisiveness and buyer's remorse

I'd be happy to help you choose the perfect one

This might work on the ignorant but this response is so stupid.

You mean wheel companies that offer custom fitments make fitments that fit our car? unreal.

I understand why people don't disclose offsets but just say the truth - it's to keep a competitive edge.

My post was in response to a user above that stated that there aren't many wheel options for the C450. With this being a thread that C450 owners turn to for aftermarket wheels options I wanted to inform those owners that there are in fact many choices available.

I should clarify. There aren't many moderately priced, mass produced wheels that fit the C450 off the shelf, like there are for most every other Mercedes on the planet.

The result of MB needing to shoe-horn the front suspension components from a C63, which is an inch wider, into a smaller space created some funky clearance issues.

Yes, if someone is willing to have a custom rim with a custom offset built I'm sure there are several wheel builders willing to take his money.

It's kind of like I said "Unfortunately there are very few flights from Wisconsin to Barbados" and the reply was "Not true! We can take you from Wisconsin to Barbados on a private charter jet!"

Well, yeah, but...

Not only is "thewb" completely correct with dozens of companies offering dozens of custom wheel choices, but, there are already a ton of wheel options that I see that fit. Most just need 5-10mm spacers for the front..

I've been mulling over some used BBS and Rotiform options I've found on various Audi forums...

PLENTY of choices out there boys

There may be now. I know when this thread started there was a lot of trial and error, mostly error, and few choices although several manufacturers claimed 450 fitments that turned out not to fit.

What's a "safe" width and offset up front?

What's everyone doing in relation to TPM, are you using the original ones that came with the car (swapping them to the new wheels) or getting new ones and leaving the original TPM with the factory wheels?

Haven't done my custom wheel setup yet, but I've always (on 3 vehicles) had them swapped over to the new ones.....never had any issues.

That's not especially exotic. I wonder why the early adopters were having such a hard time up front. The OEM fronts are 7" correct?
