The W205 C300 Touring Edition Exhaust features AWE Tuning’s proprietary drone-cancelling solution, 180 Technology, enabling the perfect tone, minus drone -- delivering the ultimate mix of performance and refinement out of the C300’s 2.0T engine. A direct bolt-on, straight-through design, the Touring Edition Exhaust delivers a civil, smooth soundtrack throughout the range while providing an enhanced in-cabin driving experience.

Sound Perfection: AWE Tuning 180 Technology

As exhaust gases exit the W205 C300 engine and flow into the AWE Tuning 180 Technology equipped resonators, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies. This looks great! I know the UK Spec C200 uses the same engine, with possibly smaller turbos and a lesser tune, but would this be compatible?

I'm thinking about ordering your touring exhaust or my C450, I'm just curious why you guys didn't offer the SwitchPath option on the C450 exhaust?

 

I certainly appreciate the amount of time and cost it takes to develop something like this, but $2,000 for 7hp??

The C450 sounds phenomenal with either of our systems which are both at stellar price points. Global market demand for a valved system was very evident for the C300 due to the power plant it hosts -- it needed a kick in the pants, so to speak. It's a very tame vehicle. The C450 on the other hand is a whole other beast that we found did not need help via our SwitchPath™ technology. A straight-through design with our proprietary drone-canceling solution put the C450 where it needed to be in regards to acoustics. Refined aggression

It's more than just hp when it comes to the SwitchPath™ system. The Touring Edition is less and sounds great, just minus what I call the "mood control." Albeit our testing was done on a bone stock C300 (other than the exhaust) so with supporting mods the exhaust opens the door for increased power. Both systems are straight-through designs so there is no restraint in flow.

It's an exhaust, not a power kit. Anyone who buys an exhaust, especially for a tame, family sedan, and expect to get more than 2 or 3% more horse power just from the exhaust either don't understand how exhaust work, or is grossly mis-informed. You buy exhaust mainly for the acoustics, there are multiple options for more power

• Is the Touring Edition Sound a more tame/civil sound of the SwithchPath when closed? I dont really want a LOUD sound, just enough "oomph" sound like my G37 Coupe, live in a private neighborhood and dont want to be coming down the street announcing my arrival with the loud exhaust
• How do i make an appointment for an install at the Horsham HQ office, approx install price as well.

I find the SwitchPath™ system, when closed, is quieter than the Touring Edition -- it's very quiet.

The Touring Edition would give you that desired "oomph" whenever you'd want it. It responds to throttle input.

My colleague, John (who you've had correspondence with before I believe) would be the man with the plan in regards to getting you booked for install. Shoot him an email with your desired time frame, etc.

I had my resonators deleted and replaced with a straight pipe, was wondering if the exhaust system could still be installed?

 

Difficult to envision what you're working with without actual imagery.

Our exhaust would replace everything that is there unless you modified it to work with whatever you had done -- which I don't recommend.

 

I emailed to order the AWE Switch Path Exhaust, but the customer service replied that I have to wait 10 weeks before it can arrive. Is that true? Apparently there's a shortage?
