Darn, your killing me.. I knew I should have got the heads up display. I mean I ordered almost everything else on the list. I just thought it wouldn't be very useful or distracting. Oh well . .

I'll admit though, it seems cool enough that I'm still half way considering adding it.

I thought about it too but decided against it. My dealer also talked me out of the light up star which I was absolutely in love with for a while. Since seeing it on the road I'm glad I decided against it. IMO it only looks good when you see it head on at night.

I talked to my salesperson last night about adding it to my build and he talked me out of it. He said it's one of those things that is cool to have at first, then it kind of loses it's luster...he told me unless I drive using GPS a ton (Uber drive, traveling sales, etc) he said he didn't think it was worth it.
I'll admit though, it seems cool enough that I'm still half way considering adding it.

Beautiful car! I want one.
I'm wondering if I would ever use the GPS. I drive a lot and I always use the WAZE app on my smart phone. (That thing has saved my azz more times than I care to admit.) Only issue is where to place a phone holder.
Am I the only one bothered by the analog clock? What's up with that, MB?

I get it, but I'm old enough to remember my dad's '65 Pontiac Parisienne with an analog clock in the dash that never worked properly.
But now that I think about it, it also didn't come with rear seat belts, and a rear deck radio speaker was optional. Maybe quality has improved over the years.
So is the C450 clock a Rolex? Hot-damn! Sign me up!!

That said, I have multiple cars with one, and am so used to it, I get bothered when i have to drive a car without it. I'm so used to not looking down often at the gauges because everything is right there "on" the road for me. One of the reasons I had to custom order our C450, because it is hard to find on the lot. I don't find losing its luster, I go out of my way to buy cars that have it.
EDIT: I should add that the MB HUD has less information than the other vehicles I own, so it isn't quite as useful, but speed and nav are the primary reasons to have one. My other vehicles also have outside temp, turn signals, high beam indicator, song/station/dvd info, and other messages (low fuel warnings, etc...).

I agree with the HUD and it losing it's luster. Cool at first but now I rarely notice it. Don't really GPS much so I don't see the turn-by-turn/arrows, etc.

Was not happy that MB did not have this option when switching over....
Adding it is quite expensive exercise as it requires a major dashboard surgery
Just my 2c

Seems to me salesperson needs some education: HUD is nothing new, had it on my E60 M5 about 10 years ago and found it very useful

I figured WTF, the HUD is only a grand and if I don't want to look at it I can turn it off, but I use it constantly. With the DA package it displays speed limits, and when Navi is on I get the turn by turn display and lane guidance. You can adjust the position of the display so it's basically sitting on the hood (where I have it) or up in your main field of view.
I got every package and option. So far the only one I haven't used is Park Assist. Everything else I use all the time. Not a lot of parallel parking opportunities where I live.

Well, I have had mine since October and I drive it almost ever day but mostly just for fun since I work from home. My favorite option (hands down) is the HUD.
I think most of this post still holds true: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post6600379
