Rates for Tire and Wheel Protection Package

I think both prices are too high.
I've set 2000 as my target for the 75K ext warranty, but I am not sure what price to target for the tire and wheel coverage.
Please reply if you have negotiated this package on a W205.
I would like to know what size rims you purchased and what the final price was for the tire and wheel coverage.
Thanks in advance.

The brochure lists the benefits as bullet points, but it intentionally omits the exclusions. It can get away with this because the brochure isn't the contract. It's not even a part of the contract. Neither are any verbal representations. Only the actual long form small print contract is binding.
So the story the F&I guy tells you about the customer who almost didn't buy the "leather protection package" and then the coverage paid for brand new seats is not only bull**** it's also irrelevant. Only what's in the actual contract. The section you want to read is "Exclusions".
On W&T, a common exclusion is for damage to a wheel that does not prevent the tire from holding air. So a bent rim that's shaking like a leaf...not covered. Curb rash...not covered. The sales guy may tell you the plan does cover curb rash, but you have to present the damage in another way to get it covered. (?)
Damage to wheels and tires are already covered under your own car insurance, subject to your deductible. But if you really want the separate package, read those exclusions carefully, and understand that aside from an extended warranty from MB, none of the protection packages are sold or serviced by MB, and any disputes are between you and the package provider, not the dealership.

I respectfully declined. I figured my insurance would cover any damages caused by potholes.

Here's my actually useful advice: get a wheel and tire quote from the people frequently referenced on this site for offering great discounts on the extended warranties (e.g. Erin Mahre). No matter what the selling dealer says, if you set the official wheel & tire up ahead of your purchase with another dealer, you shouldn't have to buy it from your dealer. I didn't.
