Need your help with my C450 wheels

So last month my C450 wheels and tires were stolen off my car.
However I cannot find replacements for the 19" Amg split 5 spoke wheels in black that came with my car.
Does anyone know the best method or who to contact to get the wheels?
I contacted my local MB dealers and the parts department told me the wheels aren't available yet on the parts catalog. They only come on new cars.

What wheels can I use and if not what aftermarket wheels can I use? I know the size has been very tough because of the clearance of the control arms.

Here is an image of my car with the wheels.

Yikes! That's a problem, since aftermarket options are almost nil. I'd see if MB can put a number on a set of any OEM 18" staggered wheels, even if it's not those wheels specifically. My guess is you're looking at around $1,000 per rim retail regardless of the design.

That might be enough insurance money to get a set of custom sized wheels built for the car. I'm sure your adjuster wants to wrap this up as much as you do.

Why not try to call Mercedes Benz Corporate? explain the situation and see if they can get you the same OEM rims that came with the car.

Yes, I agree with this. While I haven't seen anything with MB specifically, I've seen cases where manufacturers have gotten customer parts quickly with a "car down" due to accident or mechanical failure of some parts. Sometimes "quickly" was relative and cases have been over a month (when parts were on national back order), but they still were able to get them when no one else seemed to. Let them know your wheels are stolen and you can't drive the car (duh) and see what they can do for you.

I checked a few online parts places and 2016 W205 parts don't seem to be in anyone's online catalog, so it might not be published yet, but MB still has part numbers on those things.

Good luck, hope you get some wheels you like soon!

I'm just very shocked that they can sell cars with 19" wheels and not have any available for parts either here nationally or in Germany.
By the way this is for ALL the optional 19" wheels that come on the C450. None are in stock or even in production.

Just really blow my mind.

.
That's odd bc the tire and wheel protection plus will replace your wheel if it's bent and the bead to the tire comes loose...so they'd have to have extras in order to fulfill their insurance obligation.

First off, really sorry about that. We have the same rims and color combo and absolutely love them.

Just because the rims "are not in the catalog" does not mean that the part cannot be ordered. Did you actually speak with a service writer or did you just call the parts desk?
I think you will need to get the service writer involved (if you haven't already) in order to escalate this properly, otherwise this will be treated with a much lower priority.

It's possible that all of this supply of rims may be allocated to current c450 production due to the fact that the C43 changeover is quickly approaching. If the black split spoke 19s are not an option for the new c43, I can guarantee that the supply is all allocated. This doesn't mean that you can't get a set. What is does mean is that you will need the assistance of the service writer and possibly the parts dept manager in order to get them.

Good luck, I hope they take car of you quickly.

MB doesn't sell that insurance. It's third party through the dealer, and like any insurance it owes the cash value to repair or replace the covered parts. It doesn't have control over parts availability. (And often wheels can be repaired).

This is really just an availability problem due to a parts shortage, and that could stretch out awhile. He was contemplating aftermarket anyway. Might make sense to settle with his insurer somehow and have a set of something built.

Discount tire and Tire Rack show wheels for our car. I'm not a fan of any of them but sounds like you need some out of necessity as opposed to cosmetic reasons...

The issue I'm having is that the car is a lease that must be returned with original 19" Mercedes Amg wheels which none of the models are available either here or Germany.

Going the custom aftermarket route just means that I will have to take a huge hit once I return the car at the end of the lease.
I thought I could fit the C63 wheels but they do not fit on this car.
Trying to find some 19" take offs is my only solution at this point as I still do not have a response for MB corporate.

By that standard the car is a total loss from an insurance standpoint. It has unrepairable damage that renders it inoperable. Do they have you in a rental car? They're not going to want to pay for that forever at $1000 a month either.

I'd put the onus on the insurer to either repair or replace the car as they're contracted to do under the policy. If it can't be fixed, they can replace it, take the salvage, put some wheels on it and sell it to recoup some of their losses. In any event it's not on you to hunt down replacement OEM wheels, it's the adjusters job.

Maybe get a new C43 out of the deal.

Just a suggestion, but since these are so rare and not available even through the OE Dealers, I would take a strong look at your local Craigslist to see if the thieves are stupid enough to post these up for sale and have the cops who took your report investigate...if a guy is selling these wheels and does not own a C450, chances are he is the loser thief?

On another note, the multi spoke 7.5x19 and 8.5x19 will fit that comes on the C400 and 300. As long as you have a 19" wheel and tire package on the car for the lease return you should not have any issues or charges.
When they take your car back and are in most cases selling you a new one, they just care about the mileage and overall condition, so the car can be sold again.

Hey guys,

I found these wheels online the offsets for the fronts is 44mm and the rear is 52mm.

Will these work on the C450? Also what is the best spacers and sizes needed to push these out enough so they are flush with the fenders?

Thanks again!!

A 44 offset on the front will put that wheel 11mm further in than the originals which will more than likely put them into contact with the steering arm. So you have to add 11mm of spacer to get back to stock and another 12mm to get roughly flush. The rears are exactly the same as OEM so you probably want a 15mm spacer to get them out to the fender.

So just to confirm 19x8 with 32 offset for front and 19x9.5 with 53 offset for rear are the OEM 19" wheel sizes? Sorry but I'm not knowledgable at all when it comes to wheel sizes and offsets.

Thank you!

Hey Sylvain,

I am sure by now that you had found wheels that fit. Can you share the result of your findings?

It seem hard to find replacement wheels for C450....

Thanks,
Steph.
