How and what can you special order on the C300 Sedan?

Saw a similar question somewhere else and was inspired to ask here.

If I "build" a car on mbusa.com and order it at a dealer, how long will it take to get to the dealer from Alabama?

The latest colors shown on the website--even for the C63 AMG S Sedan--are mind-numbingly boring. But elsewhere on the mbusa website, there are some interesting choices like matte silver, matte black and Brilliant Blue Metallic. Will MB let you choose a color outside what is shown on the C300 webpage?

Not sure about both the mattes but as another guy on this forum once said that he wishes if the US brought the brilliant blue to the pack, so we can assume that all 3 colors that are not on the mbusa are not available in the US.

I can be wrong tho.

I built mine. The options on the website line up with the dealer's ordering system.

I'm not sure how it works with MB. But Audi let's you special order any paint in the catalog for a $2,500 premium (last I checked).

You are probably best suited to go asking a local dealer. I would also expect a full 3 month build time - at best, for such a custom order.

C450, GLS 63 and a few other things
The Brilliant Blue is a 2017 color, so it is not on the website as it is currently showing builds for 2016. Selenite Grey is the other new 2017 color. When the dealer can place an order for 2017s (which will be soon if not now) you'll be able to order those.

I think the Mattes are only Special Edition colors, so won't be available on the standard c-class.

Do you mean that the brilliant blue is a 2017 in the US only? Cause I have a '16 brilliant blue. I'm not in the US to be clear

It's not so much as how long it takes from Alabama to the dealer as it is how long Mercedes unnecessarily holds the unit before releasing it to it final destination. I have a are in Baltimore they say will be held for 2-3 months. uggg..

Okay, so considering all factors, if I order a 2017 C300 today, when will it be at the dealer for me to pick up?

How long did it take from the day you placed the order until they told you the car could be picked up?

Thanks. I did not know this. How can you tell which model year is being shown on mbusa.com for any specific car?

Excellent question that should have an easy answer, but I don't think it does. For the C class, it will be obvious because they've changed all the option packages around, so when the packages start appearing (and the C450 changes to a C43) you'll know.

My first order took about 9 weeks and my second order took about 14. West coast orders need additional transportation time, and 2017 orders won't start until the switch-over. MB has said the 2017 c's will arrive in August, so an order now probably puts it near the front, so late August, or September is the best guess...

Really quick. I had the car in eight weeks. My dealer was in Montgomery AL, so very little delay between the factory and the lot.

Also, my rep went into the factory ordering system and found a car that was scheduled to be built two weeks out and could still be modified. It was allotted to another dealer but she made a call and they just swapped them a later allotment. This was for a car that was general inventory, not a customer order.

Dealer is Jack Ingram Mercedes, rep is Melissa Wilcox. Also gave me 10% off MSRP despite it being an order. Tiny little dealer but great customer service and no games.

New models which a 17 would be, can be either sent right through or held for months or even delayed period. No telling till it happens.
