That subject line sounds like a Facebook advert lol

It does sound good. Perhaps not original C63 good...

I'd be really tired of that after about 15 min. But that's just me.

Hehe that was intentional.
Of course not C63 good but sounds great for a V6 imo!

As I listen closer, it does. But maybe that will get better overtime as it is a new car (2000km). Still beautiful nevertheless.

To each their own, but I think the cabin sound is fairly comparable to the C63 (from same video creator). Not a rumbling V8 but good enough with nice crackles.

The C450 exhaust, for me at least, was too much treble, not enough bass. My very first impression of a C450 was when the sales rep pulled one up front for the test drive and, thinking it would be helpful, gave it a couple of deep revs and my first thought was "Dude, you're not helping. Hope it sounds better from inside the car."

Inside the car, it sounded a little blatty but I still liked it. On surface streets it made a cool racket as it went through the gears, then once it settled into a cruising gear it went into a nice background rumble. So far so good.

Then I got it on the interstate and even in 7th at 75-80 there was no escaping it and I thought "That **** would get old really quick." Although I didn't love the ride firmness, especially on 19" RF's, I could have lived with or mitigated it, but the exhaust killed it for me.

The nice thing about the V8 in the C63 is that at cruising speed it's not working very hard relative to the V6.

Maybe with the 9 speed those last two ratios are short enough to let the C43 relax a little and take the edge off the exhaust note.

It can stand to be deeper for sure. Jag F type V6 still holds the exhaust crown in V6 land, deep and thunderous.

Or just hit the button to close the valves, assuming it's a C43.

I didn't get under the car but presuming it's a true dual exhaust from the headers back my shop could add a pair of straight glass packs in line somewhere and mellow that out a bit for a couple hundred bucks. Then I realized if I'm spending money to turn a C450 into something that sounds more like a C300, and rides more like a C300, and the 450 is another $9k to begin with, maybe I really just wanted a C300

What I really wanted was the discontinued C400. More power than the T4, everything else the same.

Agree the downs sound great and the ups are bordering on overbearing; but obnoxious sound is what I want, when I want the sound at all. If there wasn't an option to turn it off with the push of a button, it would undoubtedly be annoying...but given the fact I can turn it on when I want to hear it, and off when I don't, I'm a fan of it. If I were looking to keep it tamed, I think the standard exhaust (same as the Sport Exhaust on the C450) accomplished it perfectly well.

For me, deeper please. The ups are quite annoying. Again, I come from an FX50s with a Borla exhaust so for noise, I turn to my V8...

Love to have one as a weekend car/garage queen but as a DD just couldn't pull the trigger.

Well, to be honest, it seems you have found a very good match to what you were looking for. You have your DD and garage queen all in one!

I did fine. I would have liked a smoother V6 rather than the T4 but overall I love the car.

the upshift pops are too obnoxious. way too loud for a stock performance car. i expect that kind of sound from modified car without cats.

It's not even that they are too loud, it just sounds silly.

I love mechanical and engine noise, but that's not a noise I want coming out of my car.

I had a feeling if it was different it would sound like this, because it sounds similar to the AWE system - which I don't like.

Seems like that C43 Coupe is equipped with the new AMG Performance Exhaust option, no?

That is correct. It is an option for the Sedan too, the Coupe is just made to sound more aggresive than the sedan (same as with the C63 for MY2017).

That's also why I cancelled my 450 order in favor of the C43. The Coupe option, 9 speed, etc were just icing on the cake...the exhaust was the driving factor.

Ironically enough, ordering for the C43 Coupe opened up today. My old C450 also delivered today.
