AMG.one finally exposed!

Interested in the wheels you chose. I hope they fit well for you as I am looking to snag a set of 18's for my winter setup. Let me (us) know how it works out. I know there are many people that have tried to fit rims on the C450 and failed. Car look clean, congrats!
OOPS, NEVEMIND I just saw it's a C300. I'm on a roll today...2 for 2

Matts don't define the car.
The exterior badge is presumed to be factory and authentic.

And the disrespect thing is truly nonsense. Why does AMG.one owe a hypothetical AMG owner respect? It's his car if he wants to rebadge it as an AMG or a damn Ford Pinto he has every right to. This elitest BS I'm seeing on the forums about mods and badges is so amazingly stupid, it makes me question the intelligence of the AMG owners overall..

Jokes aside, the point i'm trying to make is that he is not trying to fool anyone. He's not claiming its an AMG and its merely for aesthetic purposes. After seeing the badge those posts claiming he's a poser or "upbadging" or whatever are just plain dumb.

I don't think so. Presuming his ***** was still attached to his body when he stapled it to his forehead, I believe he'd be contorted in such a way that, if anything, he might offend single-holed bowling *****.

Once you debadge the car, and then rebadge it as an AMG car, obviously you're trying to obfuscate the model. Add the C450 grille, and the C450 quad exhaust... Who are we kidding? Didn't buy a C450. Wants everyone to think he did.
He can go on EBay and buy a Biturbo V12 fender badge. Is that silly on a 4 cylinder car? I'd submit it's no less silly than the fake deck lid badge.
Here's the kicker... He did a beautiful job with the car. There's nothing wrong with a new C300. Why f it up?

I like the whole car. I don't own and AMG (can't afford ) so I don't really care about the bagging all that much. With that said, why the hell would you use the AMG replica wheels as your winter set? IMHO They look better then the stock 19's with a more aggressive offset. That's all I have to say about thaaat....
Car looks great, Enjoy!
P.S. I warn everyone about the springs (I had to pull mine off cuz the ride was awful) so I am curious if they are better on the C300 due to having less weight? My C400 felt like it was bottoming out the shocks all the time but it might be a different experience on that car.

So far the H&R springs are running well. It feels just like the OEM sport springs. No bottoming out on a C300.
My intention was never to pose as a genuine AMG car. Any enthusiast can tell its not. I figured I ordered the AMG interior and exterior packages, so I just feel proud of it. End of story. I already knew this forum would have haters, so feel free to expand your thoughts. I have nothing wrong with all the comments and I respect your input.

First off, GORGEOUS C! Love the subtle touches you've done to the car.
As for all of the other BS going on in the thread... Keep that to yourselves.....
How is putting an AMG emblem on the exterior of the car, any different than having AMG logos on the interior of the car from MB? (I.e., AMG Floor Mats)....
And for someone to say that the C450 is any more an AMG than a C300 is ridiculous.... That's like saying a BMW 335 with the M styling is basically an M3....
Give it a break people....

That's actually pretty funny.
If he just put an AMG deck lid badge on a C300, agree. Maybe he really does just like the way it looks with an extra badge. Silly, but not intentionally deceptive.

Why are you on a car forum, if you're clearly not a car enthusiast? As stated, he enjoys modifying and tinkering with his cars... Maybe he enjoys the "Built, not Bought" mentality.. Just a thought.

Well, to your previous point, not exactly. The M Sport package, like the AMG Sport package, or the S Line Sport package, give non performance versions of those cars a performance "look" for a modest up charge. So your C300 Sport, or my C300 Sport or, or a 335i M Sport, or an A5 S Line Sport, have little in common mechanically with their actual high performance counterparts...the C63, M3, S5 which cost tens of thousands of dollars more.
The C450 actually has a lot of legitimate AMG performance content. Engine tune, exhaust, brakes, suspension. Not as much as a C63 but 100% more than a C300.
As I said at the outset, and repeatedly, the car looks great. For me, the fake badge ruins an otherwise great execution. Sorry if that offends some people.

"Built not bought?" You're kidding right. The guy didn't build a more powerful car. He literally bought a badge that falsely implies a more powerful car.

Is "down badging" ok? Well actually, I guess I mean "debadging" because I'm not talkin about putting a C300 badge on what is actually a C63 - I'm talking about having a C63 and debadging it.
Is that ok? And "acceptable"?
Anyone that actually knows what a C63 is will recognise one with or without the C63 on the back.
I'm considering removing my C300 badge from the back - I think it's a cleaner look and I don't care whether people know I have a C300 or a C200 or a C220d etc. I didn't have the option of debadging at the factory because my car was already built when I bought it.
My wife's previous car was an Audi S3 and I deliberately requested a debadge at the factory build because I didn't want the attention from wannabe fastandfurious types.

so technically i could be posing as a debadged C63 to the untrained eye...i didnt think about that...that adds 300 FHP (forum horsepower)

2015 C300
last year when i got my car (again, debaged) i rolled through san francisco in traffic and several people practically walked into the street to read the badges and see what model my car was (during red light stop and go). to their dismay, and it showed on their face, they had no clue what it was. this was before the 2015's became as common as a 3-series

Hey, check out this cool Portfinio Edition Toyota Camry! You have to admire someone who sticks extra letters on their Camry to make it classier. Just another enthusiast who likes to tinker I guess.

Come to think of it... It's not only mercs that all seem to look a bit similar. Don't the current BMW 3 and 5 series looks really similar from the back? F10 vs F30 - I think they're quite hard to tell apart when debadged. Debadge of the 5 series seems to be really common here in UK - I see many on the road with no model designation.

I rolled up on this very cool small SUV recently that had been shaved and then the manufacturers emblems were replaced with some custom logo I'd never seen before, but really well done, and some kind of body kit. I honestly could not tell what the damn thing actually was, but it looked cool as hell. Might have started out as a Saturn for all I know.

Good work, personally i would add about 10mm to the rear with a spring pad spacer.. only because it appears from the image that is dragging its bum a little... (maybe not so much in real life? or you have a boot full of stuff? )
It's balance the appearance from the gap at 3 o clock and 9 oclock with that at 12 o colock and the overall look of the front..
going any lower on the front to match would IMO look "sub-optimal..." (aka liek some pleb chopped their springs.. and its too nice a car for that...
also the susp geo and hence handling would suffer...
