I think the OP should get some AMG tats.
Maybe one of these, but a tramp stamp instead of the foot tat.
If he gets a proper AMG tramp stamp, I can guarantee that AMG groupies will come a knockin'.

Op, congrats. Nice set up. Enjoy it and do whatever the heck you want with it. It's yours and no one else's. Sometimes there are lighthearted comments or sarcastic remarks about the badging. Far from offensive and certainly should not envoke such discussion.
I have respect for many of the posters here so I won't comment directly, but give this guy some room to enjoy his new toy and hobby. Be respectful please.
Cheers

Hi guys. I've been lurking on the forums for over a year reading and admiring all the fine Cs. I was contemplating on a few luxury sport sedans and decided to get the new Class after much testing and reviews.
I special ordered her 3 months ago and she arrived 1 month early. It's a 2016 Mercedes Benz C300 4Matic with AMG package inside and out. As I love modding cars, this one didn't go untouched. My previous two cars were:
I quickly customized it on the second day of ownership.
Current modifications include:
1. H&R sport springs
2. Roof and trunk spoilers
3. Mercedes Benz diamond grill
4. Mercedes Benz C450 twin exhaust tips
5. 35% NR Solargard tint
6. Debadged with ///AMG decal
7. AMG stainless steel door pins
8. Mercedes Benz black 19" AMG GTS wheels (for winter)
And, I think I'm officially done.....hopefully. These are some preliminary photos until I get a proper photoshoot done later on this summer.

Bottom line is this for many of us, who are cousins and descendants of the "Don't tell us how to live our lives and we won't tell you how live yours" family: The key - like with tattoos - is that is was done well.
I've seen 200 tattoo sleeves in my day and while some might not be to my taste (read: wouldn't ink that s*&^ on me @ gunpoint), but no matter what it was, if it's was nicely done, had to give some props.
So, same to you. Good job. Drive it proudly.

Yeah, I said from the outset the car looks great, aside from the fake badging. I wonder
why the OP didn't just get a C450? He clearly admires the look of one, they're not hugely more expensive than a loaded C300, all of the cosmetic bits are included, plus you get the performance that matches the look.

Well, to your previous point, not exactly. The M Sport package, like the AMG Sport package, or the S Line Sport package, give non performance versions of those cars a performance "look" for a modest up charge. So your C300 Sport, or my C300 Sport or, or a 335i M Sport, or an A5 S Line Sport, have little in common mechanically with their actual high performance counterparts...the C63, M3, S5 which cost tens of thousands of dollars more.
The C450 actually has a lot of legitimate AMG performance content. Engine tune, exhaust, brakes, suspension. Not as much as a C63 but 100% more than a C300.
As I said at the outset, and repeatedly, the car looks great. For me, the fake badge ruins an otherwise great execution. Sorry if that offends some people.

Apparently you and some others on this forum created a gauge that measures how "AMG" an MB truly is, as well as the thresholds to stipulate if your allowed to brand it "AMG." Give me a break....
Again, to the OP, Beautiful Car! Keep doing what makes you happy and what looks great to your eye!

We all can't hand forge engines and parts like you from raw materials.... Time to stop taking the term literally.... SMH

Actually your use of that phrase is an incorrect interpretation of it. That phrase has nothing to do with badging and everything to do with performance modifications. A 320i with a tune and an aftermarket M3 badge is not "built" it's bogus.

I'm kind of wondering why a guy who thinks a C300 and a C450 are the same car with different badges is on a Mercedes forum.
"Built not bought?" You're kidding right. The guy didn't build a more powerful car. He literally bought a badge that falsely implies a more powerful car.

Don't blame him for the Mercedes Marketing Team, branding the sport styling on the c300's "AMG." Apparently in Mercedes eyes, which certainly trumps all others on this forum.... AMG is no longer just about Performance, but about styling as well...
Right or wrong, that's the reality. Mercedes has soften the AMG history, clearly with the introduction of SUB AMG Vehicles.., IE. c450/c45.

Sorry but its MB that gets to decide if it's an AMG and it's the posers that are changing the threshold.

Sorry, I just reread his list of modifications he did to his car. You're right, the Badge was the only thing he added to the car.

By what standard?! The c63 has more power than the c450... but they both are "OK" to be badged AMG......?

C450 has:
1) SLK 55 Trans
2) E/CLS 63 AWD Setup
3) C63 Suspension
4) C63 Steering Rack
5) AMG Designed Exhaust with "dumping" sound in S+
These are the reasons it is branded AMG Sport and now AMG. None of those things are in the C300 and that is OKAY, different cars for different markets and price points. Just like M Sport doesn't equal M. AMG Line (the exterior package/Sport Package in the US) also doesn't equal AMG.

Guess what, all those mods he did doesn't make it an AMG car any more than a 320i with M Sport and a JB4 tune doesn't make it an M3 or an M320i or anything else but a modded 320i. It's OKAY to be proud of a modded C300 nobody is saying otherwise and Mike has a C300 not a 450 so he's not trying to say his car is superior.

I'm going leave it at this and say nothing more. (Sorry to thread jack the OP in the first place.)
If anyone thinks that the atrocity in this situation is the OP slapping an AMG badge on his c300 sport and not the fact that Mercedes is softening the legacy of what AMG initially stood for (Raw Performance), then there really isn't anything left to say. Mercedes is continuing down the path to drive sales by marketing entry level "AMG" vehicles to Millennials, by throwing around the AMG name and slapping it on everything and anything....
To accuse the OP of being a poser for putting an AMG badge on his deck, yet applaud Mercedes for the use of AMG logos on such things as floor mats in a c300 or to call their sport styling AMG or to have a more "comfortable" AMG vehicle, (C450), is incomprehensible to me.
AMG doesn't mean what it use to... Time to move into 2016; Mercedes has.

It's a guideline, not a rule.
"Nice car, Mr. Salesman. What's it called?"
"Well son it's a Mercedes C300, but of course you're free to decide what model it is yourself. Just drop by the Parts Boutique and pick out some badges. Might I suggest "Maybach"? Very classy badge. Or "Engine Handbuilt by Klaus Meschershmidt". He's very popular, especially with the Smart For2 crowd."
Mercedes created a gauge that decides how "AMG" the cars they assign an "AMG" designation to are. I'm suggesting they probably know best, since they, you know, build the cars.
Versus some squirt with an EBay account, a can of Plastidip, and a wish.
Which begs the obvious question: Just how much fake crap have you glued onto your car?

Does that give everyone who happens to drive a Mercedes carte blanch to suddenly decide their car is now an AMG model too? It does not.
Are AMG floor mats on a C300 Sport silly? Yes, they are. There's no such thing as a high performance floor mat. Not my call. They came with the car.
Is sticking an AMG emblem on your C300 because, I mean why the heck not...it already has AMG floor mats! "silly"?
Yes, it is. Very silly.

AMG.one, having the front grill black and trunk chrome piece black may add a different look to the car if ever you want to do a quick mod , car looks great though, well done.
Definitely didn't expect to see the AMG badge hate in this thread lol.
