Windshield washer fluid for C300
I bought a C300 last week and I'm still reading its manual for the basics. Can anyone help me what windshield washer fluid should i use ? I have decided to stick to either summer or winter year around. Firstly, is it mandatory to use the winterfit ? I can't find it anywhere online to purchase. The one from ebay says it is not meant for 2016 C300. Can i use the regular blue fluid ? Appreciate any help.

Are you located somewhere that experiences freezing temperatures during the winter? If so you need the winter blend so it doesn't freeze up. If not you're fine with any type really. Any fluid will work, try to stay away from the ones with lots of additives as they tend to plug up the screens of the washer pumps with a slime from all the extra chemicals.

Welcome any fluid is fine I use Prestone green fluid for the winter and then summer blend for warmer weather. I drain each season and refill with correct season fluid

The sensor in the tank that allows the system to know if the fluid is low or not. My SA advised me never to use it so I don't a quick google search showed me more instances of the same. Honestly I've never changed or added more fluid to the tank, it always lasts me until Service A or B and they refill it.

Is this a problem with all Rain-X branded washer fluids or only certain types? I had not heard about this issue before. After seeing this thread I did some Google searching and I see people talking in various car forums about the orange fluid, which I've never seen in my area.
I have used their De-Icer (yellow fluid) in winter and Bug Remover (pink fluid) in summer for years in our family vehicles, including 2 C350's, and several Mazda's, Ford's and an Acura and have never had any problems with the washer level sensors. We have snowy and slushy conditions to deal with in winter and I go through at least 3-4 jugs in a season in my car. I buy Rain-X when it's on sale, but mostly use the 4 jug packs of washer fluid from Costco, and sometimes they get mixed together when refilling the reservoir.
Is it possible Rain-X uses a different formulation here in Canada than in the US?

Had a BMW and found out that their OEM fluid coagulated when mixed with Prestone. Moral being, it dosen't matter what you use but avoid mixing brands. Dilute with water according to season.
