These are 2 separate screens, original screen and Android screen. The original screen cannot be modified in anyway. They just added the new Android screen as you see in the video. The 2 screens can be togged back and forth via pressing & holding the return button for a few seconds.
Can you put the two screens side by side? It would be nice to see google maps and have radio/phone/climate controls on at the same time.

It won't be possible as the screens are mutually exclusive. For the climate control, if you adjust the AC while on the Android screen, it'd show their own version of the climate control so you'll know what you're adjusting. Radio is not available in Android. For phone, it does have a bluetooth option along with the dialer.

I can't really confirm/deny because I didn't have Burmester. But I didn't have Burmester because I didn't have Comand. I only had Audio 20. I thought the only difference was the speakers and maybe an extra amplifier. And when it switches to Android, it uses its own amplifier anyway. But who knows. Their software may not be compatible with Burmester. They do have 30 days return though. So, it's up to you.

I will be purchasing mine after Christmas I spent too much on upgrading my component speakers already.

I guys, I came across this the other day on Facebook and found in Taiwan there are 10.25" Touch Screen that can replace the factory screen.
It also allows for screen mirroring from cell phones. From the look of this, the split screen allows to show other things other than just what's available on Comand.
Anyone know if this mod is available in North America?
I think with the added screen, there is the possibility to install some pretty neat vehicle diagnostic softwares to be displayed as well.

No, I didn't purchase the display screen. Found out from a YouTuber who bought it, that there were 3 issues with the unit.
1) if you have the pre-facelift dashboard, then the signal conversion box had problema. Post facelift doesn't need the signal conversion box.
2) when answering phones calls the sound only comes from left speaker, not the entire surround sound. And comes out very loud which volume can not be adjusted
3) the mileage indicator and the tachometer on the display screen only reads in kilometer, not mileage.
So I decided to hold off until the company addresses these issues. I reported the issues to the company and theybsaid they'll look into it and well see about applying fixes in the next OS upgrade.

I'd also recommend getting the video in motion cable from naviks.com while you're at it. It's $160, but it allows you to enter navigation coordinances while the car is moving. Along of course to play movies while driving too! LOL But it's well worth it for the nav part alone. I put this into my car already.

you guys are talking about the screens that OP posted (or similar ones) right? why not just get the android that were posted in the latter pages? much better than former anyway. unless you have burmister, since they arent compatible.
