Seat Artico Leather stretching

Has anyone taken their car back to Mercedes Dealer and complained about the Artico Leather seats stretching just after short period of time? What was their response? I know some owners of A45 AMG have done it and dealer was aware of the problem and in some cases seats were fixed.

This is a seat from 2014 C200 with only 14000km

This is a seat from 2015 C250 with only 10000km

I don't think this kind of stretching is acceptable in a car that cost over $60k especially being a Mercedes.

Doesn't look too bad to be honest. Good luck with that.

I think that's fairly minor too, you can expect some stretching of any material including real leather. Go see a specialist if the dealer says no as it may be adjustable or treatable with heat like leather is.

You guys are kidding me right. I understand that under certain condition leather and other materials that seat is made of will stretch. But not after 12 months. What is it gonna look like in 10yrs? That's why to avoid it different car companies make sure their seats have enough padding and enough sticking lines in the stretch prone areas. This stretching is nothing else but bad design.

This is a leather seat on a 2014 Nissan Xtrail driven daily by a 100kg person.

Clearly Nissan has a better idea how to avoid stretching issue.

You paid for Artico (artificial cow).

No offence but comparing Benz to Nissan won't win your argument with your dealer.

If the driver is 100Kg they may argue it's beyond normal wear and tear.

Oh no I wasn't gonna compare Nissan to a Mercedes at the dealer. All I'm saying is I remember Mercedes Benz to be at the top of the game with their design and quality. Those two seats are from cars driven by skinny drivers. Just wanna see if it bothers any of you and if it has been addressed with Mercedes and what was the outcome. Maybe I'm just too fussy.

in 10 years, it will probably still look the same but even more in a shape of your butt.

Hey I have the same problem on my C300 except mine is only 3 months old with 4000miles. Did the dealer replace it?

I found a temporary solution.
I do feel the MB Tex stretching this early is a quality issue and should be
replaced under warranty.
However, a normal cloth damped in a warm water made my seat look
way better. My seat was in a very similar condition to OP's black seat.

Try it.

That seat in the light colour looks filthy. I was toying with the idea of going light but I am glad I stuck with the boring black.
