After months of trial and error, finally found a fitment that I am proud of on my C450, despite the control arm issues.

Looks good!
Can't believe the control arms are causing so many fitment issues on the 450s! You got it spot on!

Thanks so much! That control arm has been the bane of my C450 existence...lol. And for all the other 450 owners as well.

I'm thinking about the same wheels, but with tires 285/30/20 in the rear. Would that fit?

How much clearance from the control arm at +31 offset do you have? I have a +42 right now, if i put on a 10mm spacer i'd be at +32. Do you think it'll be too close, still?

I also wanna know if the 285/30 20 would fit in the rear?

I asked about a 285/30/20 for the rear however Tirerack told me the load index would be incorrect.

In fact, Vossen suggested a 235/35/20 for the front but when I told Tirerack, they said that size isn't the proper load index so I just went went with their suggestion of the 245/35/20 up front.

Also, there isn't clearance at all. They told me about a piece of cardboard like the Fedex boxes. They were able to slide a piece of cardboard in between when they tested it.

Thanks! I really give you credit for how mine turned out. I'm at +32 offset front, i have half that cardboard box clearance! But, its a static clearance and I doubt if i can flex my tires by that much on a turn, hahaha!

This is how my c43 came out... Thanks again atl 2 chi!

Looks great! Perfect height & love those wheels!
They look like a 20 inch cleaner version of the stock 18 inch AMGs. What tire sizes did you go with?

Thanks, that really was my objective... just a cleaner version of the stock... but, the brake dust... oh, my... (smh).

fronts: niche 20x8.5 w/ conti's dws 245/30 20. If you do 245/35 it'll get you closer to the fender. But, since these tires came fom my prev e coupe and i didn't want to spend on new ones, i just kept it. They're still in great shape. I only had 11K mi on it.
Rears: 20x10 w/ dws 275/30 20.

Why you guys take Conti's and not Michelin PSS?

Ik think the perfect combination on 8,5" and 10" is 245/35/20 and 285/30/20, or, 235/35/20 and 275/30/20.

Yes, i think that's the perfect combination too. The reason I went with continentals over michellins are purely financial and treadwear. Once these tires wear out, i most likely will be going with the first option you mentioned.

The Conti's were recommended to me by Discount Tire several years back based on the weather conditions we experience in Chicago. I had my first set back in the day on my 2006 C230K and been rolling on them ever since. Maybe I will look into the Michelin's the next go around. And they also recommended the 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 combination. I preferred 285/30/20 but I figured that they knew the best combo...lol.
