Auto start stop.. stopped...
So I know many hate the stop start but as I do very short trips I value the feature.
for the last 18 months it's kicked in really soon after start up.
until last week when all I get is the amber circle. It's not worked at all not even after several longer journeys.
annoyed.

mine was shutting off completely and no green light would come on. but the problem was due to having an engine malfunction (faulty spark plug causing misfire) so the start stop function was acting up due to that.

Thanks for the replies. The manual states that the yellow icon means available and no faults but that the conditions to activate aren't yet met. Manual states that if there's a malfunction it wouldn't even show the yellow icon.

I used to hate my auto stop but now I love it. It saves me around 10% in gas compared to similar car I had before without one.
I too have wonder what condition it has to reach for it to disengage. So far it has done it to me once or twice and both are early in the drive. I wonder battery voltage is one of the metrics and if your car has some unknown parasitic draws on the battery.

I almost notice that it decides not to activate more often on days where I manually disable it or switch modes more often. Like it resets the logic that enables the start/stop. Some form of amount of time waited at idle x % of below average fuel consumption being read. Algorithym getting thrown off.
Clearly I cant spell algorithym so don't take my word for it, just a hunch.

In my case I had to replace the main battery and the "auxiliary battery" (capacitor/voltage regulator). "Auxiliary battery" was defective and main battery was at the end of service life.
