C450 fueling issue.

Hi.

Need some assistance..

Lately when I've been fueling up I get pauses from the fueling hose.. so I fuel the car and then the pump stops.. (mind you the tank is not full).. I start fueling again and it stops.. this continues on and on..

I heard that this is because there is air in the tank? How do I rectify?

Thanks.

I have the same problem every few fill ups. It happens when I'm on E and even a half tank. My dealer couldn't duplicate the error. Mwop mwop.

Never had this problem filling up my C450...then again I never squeeze the fueling level fully or try to jamb the fill cap in the handle like the lazy people do.

This has happened to me in my last few cars.

I just remove the nozzle and re-insert. It's almost like you have to find the g-spot at times.

I have it sometimes too.
Think it's also related to the sensitivity of the fuel grip. But usually taking it out or wiggle it a bit helps.

I think I do get that when I get gas from randoms on long trips and usually move it out a bit and not inserting it as far seems to work.

We're still talking about gas now right?

Try backing out the nozzle a bit, that usually works for me.

I think this is more about back pressure in the tank, or nozzle than another else. It changes for me with the weather. Usually a pull out slightly (don't read into that one!) and re-insert will get it moving fine again.

My 2015 C300 had its fuel tank replaced 0_0! It was filling up, but it would kick the fuel line at half a tank, and never went above that. Very strange.

I've had this problem on and off with both of my C300's. At one point I had the vent valve replaced. That fixed it for a while, but then the issue returned. Recently, I complained about it to my dealer and they replaced another part of the venting system. Since then it has been fine, and I can fuel the car with no problems at all.

The dealers can check on this, and will replace parts if needed under warranty.
