I bought a CPO 2015 c300 and took delivery Sept 15th. When I took delivery, the pano roof wouldn't open. So I had to bring it in for service of course, where they took it for the day and gave me a loaner.
It needed some parts, so we had to schedule a subsequent visit that started last Wed, which they said would take two days.
Well, itt will be a week tomorrow, and now they need some glass guys to come in and replace the pano roof, which will take another few days.
I've had the car for a month, and 25% of the time it's been back at the dealer.
I like the car otherwise, and got a nice deal on it.
But what should I ask for in compensation, if any?

i would say smile and let it go , hopefully next time they won't have to keep it for 2 weeks for whatever other weird issues that plague this model

If it really was CLA 45, you are lucky and you should not ask any compensation. If it's CLA 250, you should not ask for compensation either because I think 1 week to fix the sunroof is ok, though frustrating as you just took delivery.

IME Get used to it.....
At least the loaner keeps your mileage down, wear and tear on their car and your resale value higher.. every cloud...

It is of course possible the roof failed after the CPO inspection.
If my car needed repairs and they have me an MB loaner, I would have no beef. I recall years back I had an E 36 BMW that had a problem that put the car in the shop for a week. They gave me a BMW loaner- all was good

Smart buy getting CPO. If you didn't get the additional 24 months of coverage (36 months total) you can still add it anytime during the initial CPO period. Worth every penny.
BTW, give your SA a perfect survey score and add a nice comment about how helpful the service department was. From then on out they'll treat you like gold.

Get used to it. Every dealer I know doesn't give loaner by default. And if they have to, it's always 1 class down from what you got, unless what you got is a CLA.
There is a program for either BMW/Audi/Mercedes (forgot which) for dealers to acquire loaners for cheap to pad the sales numbers on certain models. That's why my previous dealer is littered with A3 loaners and now I'm here at Merc, I got a CLA250 as well.

CPO cars and warranty work will always get a loaner (unless they're totally out) but no guarantee as far as model. My local fleet is all C and GLK, even when I brought the S's in. Actually it was while the S550 was in for three weeks for a backordered strut that I fell for the C loaner. Usually I was dying to get the S back but the last time I was kinda sad to have to turn the C in. So I ordered one.

Buddy with BMW and major tow in engine issue got send away in a Buick LaSabre rental from Enterprise.
Now since we are an oil town and economy has gone down the crapper the last few years, loaners are actually easier to get.

I feel your pain. My E550 CPO was in the shop twice for several days in the first month for a passenger window that sounded like nails on chalkboard. I had to take it back the second month for a warped front rotor. They gave me C class loaner. Trust me, going from a four year old E550 to brand new C300 is a down grade. No offense to my C class friends.

Sorry, the wife just informed me that it was a B class apparently (hopes of being more important than I actually am lie in ruins yet again)

I gotta tell you it felt like the e class was made 10 years ago, made me soooo miserable but it could have been that the new c is the only Mb I have owned.

My dealer provides loaners for the length of the service or repair or will drive you where you need to go in the morning. For day jobs I get them to drive me to work and Uber back.
They wanted to give me a B but I insisted on a similar vehicle and spoke to my salesman. Ended up with a CLA Shooting Brake. Best part was the service guy who said it wasn't an option a week prior said "Look after her, she's mine."
They also seem to pickup other customers vehicles and return them but they tend to be G55s etc. They did offer to pick my car up and do the work when I was on vacation but I declined.

The two dealerships I've dealt with in my area dole out loaners like bottled water,...and for as long as the repair takes, as it should be for this class of vehicle.
The cheapest loaner I've been given was a brand new GLA, and the most expensive...a new 2016 E Class, but most the time I get another C Class.

I've been dealing with the same MB dealer for 8 years. Loaners are usually booked up unless arrangement is made at least a week in advance, but no problem getting one even for routine service. The vehicle tended to be either a C or B, then later CLA and GLK's showed up. However, I recently learned they have farmed out their loaner management to Enterprise Car Rental. They sold Enterprise a bunch of MB's and there is an Enterprise desk in the service dept. Still no cost to customers, but MB felt they could cut their costs this way. Have not yet been in with my C450 so can't really comment on how the process works. I can see this might be a growing trend though - cost savings for the dealer (vehicle depreciation and maintenance, insurance), they don't have to unload the used loaners down the road, less overhead to manage the process and (theoretically) no difference to the customer.
