W205 wrist pin issue please help
Hey everyone,
Its my first time here i always read stuff but wasn't a member a lot of great folks here! So lets get to the problem maybe someone here can help. I drive a w205 2015 c180 with 5000 kms on the clock. I have a rattling sound from the engine while driving and at idle a very subtle sound i always thought it was the DI sound but no this is another sound in the background more from the lower part of the engine ( I hear it near the front tyres) I am very worried that this might be the wrist pin issue? Is it ? And if yes how many miles can an engine with this issue last ? Thanks

If the dealer avoids it, how are we going to help?
Tell them it's making noise, and it wasn't before. Ask to compare it to another similar car. If yours is louder, they need to find out why.

They are trying to let it get out of warranty so its not their problem unfortunately! So if an engine has the famous wrist pin issue will ot last long enough am very worried thanks

It will probably last forever. But there's no real way to determine how much noise will result in wear, it will take excessive wear to start causing damage.

If you feel the car is louder than a normal car, get a manager involved. Even the dealer GM can help. If your car isn't as quiet as a comparable car, they should fix it. The dealership gets paid to do the repair, there's no reason for them to avoid the repair if there's an actual issue.

Thanks man I will try my best but here there is only one agent for mercedes and everything goes through them so its better for them to let you pay for the repairs rather than cover them under warranty they are even claiming that the sound is due to poor fuel quality which is not true because this doesnt sound like detonation

If their giving you a little bit of a push back ,go back and buy an extend warranty then wait it out.
Keep giving them feedback on what's going on but if it's 2015 you are going to need that extend warranty or may be not but why would you risk it

You can only buy the extended warranty while the car is still brand new here it works this way unfortunately so its not an option I really liked the car didn't want such a small issue ruin the experience If i sell I wont be able to afford a new one! That is what scares me so do you think i can get 100k miles on it with this engine ?
