I'm able to do all those changes on my non-COMAND unit, and acccess the envelope...but still no text messages.

Weird. The system in the demo is an A20.

I figured out my issue (at least related to this topic)...I have Show in Notification Center and Show on Lock Screen turned off. So one, or both of these must suppress it from coming up on the MB screen. When I turn these both on, it comes up.
