C43 vs C450 vs c400 turbocharger size
Does anyone know if the turbocharger size has changed from the c400 to the current c43 amg?
If so, where can you find this information?
Thanks!

450 and 43 have Same turbos- Ive been looking to get larger but no shop is willing to play with it. And ive been trying for years as I purchased my car in August of 14. The shops that do fabrication around me are all booked up with twin turbo lambos and Alpha GTRs. If you find someone willing to mess with our cars. Ill ship mine. Im down to be the test mule. Im looking for bigger turbos, additional cooling, fuel system, heck... ill throw a 50 shot for fun.

I think 50 shot is a pre millennials reference.~50 HP worth of nitrous oxide sprayed direct into the intake without additional fuel.
Ah yes back in the day when turbo motors were getting piggy backs and rear wheel steering was the new technology. Now the F & F really missed an opportunity by not calling the new movie F8 of the Furious.

Guys, I think you're missing the point here. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning.

Looks like the C400, C450, and most likely C43 all have the same turbos. I checked a few genuine Mercedes parts websites and it looks like all applications of the 3.0 V6 biturbo engine for 2015-2016 AMG/non-AMG models have the same turbo part numbers (except for the SL400 coupe for some reason).
Like many have said before, the AMG-lite models have an OEM software upgrade in conjunction with a boost increase to raise power levels from 329 to 362 hp. However, Mercedes has mentioned that the 2017 E43 AMG has been fitted with larger turbos to bring power up to 396 hp.

I asked multiple tuners about this. The turbos and manifolds are the same size. However, the turbine shapes and weights are slightly different. On the 400 models the turbines don't spin as fast on the top end but spool more quickly (meant to be smoother daily drivers and feel fast under regular driving conditions). That's why the 400 models build peak torque at lower RPM and supposedly have less turbo lag than the 450/43 models. One of the modifications that AMG made on the 450 and 43 models is that the turbine shape allows for higher spinning speeds at full throttle. This is why OE and AMR are able to tune the 450 to higher peak gains than the 400. Like 50 hp at the crank.

I was told something similar by AMR as well, that the turbine wheels were a tiny bit larger for the C450. Wanting to know the part numbers, I looked up the turbocharger units in https://www.getmercedesparts.com/ and it indicated both models share the exact same part. Same goes for other 400/450 models.

Yeah i saw that too.. thats why i asked them if they can tune my c400 like the c450, and they said no because of the turbines. The guy at OE told me the same thing. Maybe they dont sell that replacement part unless u get it from amg. Its also possible the downpipes or some exhast part is different, gotta look into that
