how much did you pay for the grill and how hard was the swap?
Paid $90 for the grill and since it was my first time and I was working with the crappy instructions from this forum and no other help, it took me a total of 6 hours but out of that I will give 1.5 hours to trying to get the grill off without putting the car on jack stands to get to the underpanel so I can remove the additional two bolts that brings the bumper completely out. Gave up on that and then it was about 2 hours. The grill being aftermarket was a b**** to put in but a little bit of muscle got all the clips in order and you see the result!
If I had to do this again by myself, it would take me not more than 1.5 hours total.
I got the diamond grill installed and yes the star can be removed very easily, I later added the light up star after.
Did you buy the illuminated star aftermarket from eBay or somewhere or from the dealer? I have one from eBay but it has come without any instructions so can't install it. Been laying around in my garage for the past 3 months lol.

Mine is OEM I got it from a dealer and I think I still have the instructions if you need them lol, shoot me a pm and I’ll try and find them.
Edit: Couldn’t find them lol but here’s a link that someone posted and I installed it the same way. If you need any help let me know and I can do my best to help you out.
The problem is is that mine is aftermarket so it has different set of wires than what come with the OEM star from the dealer. I don't want to do any trial and error with electrical stuff on the car so i am not even daring to try anything myself lol.
So I decided to pull the trigger on the Diamond Grille for my C300 Sport. Can't want to see what it looks like on my car. Will post pics once it's all installed. Will be taking it on as a DIY...wouldn't have even considered doing so without this forum!
