When you dont have time to wash your car

Where do you go? I have the Black 18 inch 5 spoke AMG rims and dont want to take it to a normal car wash where the wheel has to go thru the guide rail and ding them up.

Than I dont wash it. Better a dirty car than going through a car wash! Just find a moment to wash IT by hand or find a company that does it for you.

1. With your "Blackie" clean - use a tech "sealant" on the paint and on the wheels - "Glanzwax" is hand applied one small area (1'x2') at a time - light/even layer - let "cure" 30 min and wipe off the haze. Awesome stuff, really. Cheap !

Amazon Amazon

2. Hand Wash - Usinging de-ionized water - for $170 this is lasts a heck of a long time - and "recharge bags" are cheap:

If you want to add more gloss and/or extend longevity - use a spray carnuba on top of the sealant.

It's up to you - keep the beat !

Visit different self car washes , I found this really great one with good pressure that I get the whole thing washed and dried without getting wet or touching my car.

they take cards too once in 2 weeks, I do the hand washing .

Well... the "downpour" comment is a bit skewed - since in most area's rain w/contaminants leaves water spots too

Use a car wash that uses a conveyor belt (basically a moving floor) to transport your car through the wash. It's the only type of car wash I'll use. I have he 19 inch AMG black and silver wheels. They would never make it through a car wash with metal guide rails. There is a very good wash near my home where the car goes through and then is finished by hand. I routinely see Ferraris, Lamborghinis and even a Mclaren or two there trying to protect their wheels.

In the UK you could have your car 'cleaned' at the supermarket while doing your grocery shopping...

+1 I always watch the guard rails to make sure they're not metal --- the one I go almost every Friday is made of nylon.
