Cost to change transmission fluid C300 4matic?
2016 C300- Has anyone had this done yet? I called the local dealer and they want $785. I'm curious what others have paid or been quoted. I know these cars are more expensive to service than most, but that much is just ridiculous! I have a lift in my garage and would attempt changing the fluid myself if I could find any good write-ups or videos on it. Thanks

From what I've heard, Mercedes suggests changing the transmission fluid only once at 43k and never changing it again. Here's a video from a test worthy source:
. I plan on changing mine every ~50k and taking it to a independent shop that specializes in German cars.

I had the transmission and the differential changed today 04/29/2020 by a certified Mercedes private shop done for $ 425.00. Also, they replaced the side view mirror cover and fixed my AC vent tab as well. The dealer's rape, I mean rape their customers

I had my transmission fluid changed last month for $225 at an independent shop. It was my second fluid change. I couldn’t buy the fluid and filter for that. I’d suggest calling around to MB certified shops - not the dealer.

Everyone should do whatever they feel most comfortable doing, but for myself, the only time my cars are at a dealer is for covered warranty work.
Anything that requires payment from me that I can't do myself is done at an independent shop, except for my first service done at a MB dealer which was the last time I did that (got totally ripped-off).
Also, for those that don't know, getting service done at an independent shop does not void your warranty (if you still have one).

So I went back today to get my car and my regular service guy was there. He tells me the Transmission fluid change is only $580 total, so not sure what the other guy was quoting. Jeez, good thing i opted out.![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)

Also, just to add my personal opinion and preference as info: I would never flush an automatic transmission myself. Just drain, replace filter and fill with fresh fluid.
Sediment tends to settle low (gravity) and finds a "home" to build-up in small quantities (in a healthy tranny). I'm not sure why anyone would want to stir that up and run it through the entire system.
I've never had a vehicle of mine get the tranny flushed, so I don't have first-hand experience, but I've come across many horror stories of tranny issues after flushing.
Just FYI.

When i say transmission flush, i meant any and all activies needed to correctly replace the transmission fuild cleanly.
If a "flush" is not part of the normal transmission fluid change then its my fault.

Lesson leart from my experience is that I should not trust the dealer blindly. I had condaminated fuel in my gaz tank which damaged my low and high fuel pumps. So my dealer wanted me to buy the gaz tank and the fuel pumps total 3,000 usd excluding labor. I ended up with cleaning thoroughly my gaz tank and changing my fuel pumps total cost including labor less then 843 usd. I have done at a local mechanic.

I thought that we already all knew that stealers are scammers and that we had never trusted them EVER !
