Service Indicator Light Not Lit

Hi All,

I tried doing several searches and didn't find anything on this. My car was new July 2017 and has 11K miles on it. I'm very pumped to do my Service A, but the indicator has not come on! I have also called Fletcher Jones Motorcars to inquire, and they said they had no idea but that I should still service it.

What do you guys think? Did anyone's C300 go past 10K miles with no indicator for service A? Am I just not being patient enough?

Thanks!

A gaggle of MB's
1. Go into the cluster and under ASSYST PLUS - and what does it say there ?

2. Did you purchase new - or was it demo/pre-owned ?

3. If it was bought demo/pre-owned - or if someone messed with resetting the service indicator - either way if Service Interval got reset - on the W205 if the Service Interval is reset - it resets the "time" starting from 0 - however based on mileage it to the next service mileage interval at that next interval in this case - 20K miles

So at what mileage service indicator light should come on? 9900 miles ? My car is around 8500 miles. I bought it at the end of April 2017, I intend to bring it to dealer for the a service, I wonder when the light will come on.

For me, Service A didn’t appear until 10,100 miles, and Service B at 20,100 miles.
MB Service recommended changing every year, even if i drove <10k

Like the 2nd post says, you can check in the service menu under assyst plus, it will show the time or mileage remaining, whichever is closer.

Thanks, everyone! Super helpful. Very funny - light went on right after you all responded to me, and I'm now happy. haha

Today, when i started the engine, there is a message in the odometer that says " service A is required in 29 days" I bought my car on April 29, 2017 and as of now, the odometer is at 8647 miles. So, I think the service indicator will go by the time frame, not the mileage that you drive.

Joe is exactly right, the assist plus system uses the mileage AND time to determine when the service is due. It all depends whether the time runs out, or if the mileage gets high enough.
