Did you find the solution? I'm in the same boat. I can't open the trunk by hand while all doors are locked even if the smart key is in my pocket. The trunk opens if I press the trunk button on the smart key, but not by pressing the trunk lid by hand.

Someone mentioned taking the start engine button out and using the fob to turn over the engine. This should re sync the fob. Worth a try.

I tried several methods. I'm not sure what was the culprit but it's solved. Your comment helped me a lot. Many thanks. What I did,
1. Remove the start button in the ignition.
2. Insert the smartkey into the ignition. (do not turn)
3. Press and hold the lock button with one finger. (do not release the button)
4. Press unlock button five times with another finger while pressing the lock button.
5. Release the lock button.
6. Remove the smartkey and put the start button back.
7. Start the engine. The engine should start.
8. Lock the doors from the outside by touching the button on the door handle.
9. Unlock the doors by touching the handle. (repeat 8 & 9 several times)
10. Lock the doors by touching the button on the handle.
11. Open the trunk. It opens ~~~.
The trunk didn't open at the first time after reset but it did after locking/unlocking the doors several times.
The only time I have this issue is when my phone is in the same pocket as my key. In that case, I have to be nearly standing against the car to get the key to recognize, or take my phone out of the pocket.
