W212 or W205?
the Hi everyone I hope you all are having a great time. this is my first question/post on this site
I own a W212 E350 CGI 2011 Avangrade it has 63,000 miles on it. its a decent clean car. its my daily driver and I drive it around 30-40 miles everyday to work.
I kinda got bored of this car and I wanna get a newer/modern Mercedes.
I found two which I really like.
first one, is a white 2016 W212 E400 4-Matic with almost all the options such as adaptive headlights, panoramic sunroof, radar, Harman Kardon sound system etc.. it has 26,000 miles on it
Second one, is a Black 2017 W205 Coupe C300 it has the AMG package. multimedia upgrade, Panoramic sunroof, Burmester sound system, adaptive Headlights etc.. it has 9,000 miles on it.
the prices are very similar so its not a huge deal for me.
Im really stuck in between these two. I love both of them. but I need some professional advice about the reliability because I need one as my daily driver.
Im 24 years old Im single and I dont have kids. so a 2 door car wont be a problem for me.

I’ve had a 2014 E350 4Matic and a 2015 C300. The E class was a cruiser on the highway and handled better than I expected, the car did go airborn once when I lent the car to someone but you wouldn’t notice it, the chassis on that thing was super strong. The car never had an issue and we returned the lease with about 30k miles on it. The C class was different we bought it used with 18k miles and it was bought back under the lemon law with 20k miles. It spent about 2 months in the shop. It seemed that the previous owner destroyed the car and the dealer did a great job of covering it up even the car fax said it was accident free. We bought it at night so inspecting it was difficult but after a week we noticed that it looked like 3/4 rims were bent badly and the rear end was redone. The rims looked like they drove over a center median at high speed. The car creaked every where the dealer was able to make it go away for about 5 days before they came back. The refresh seems to be built a lot better so I would stay away from the pre-facelift C class, at least the first year of the Alabama built ones, they are improving immensely on their quality though now. The car vibrated like hell going over 60 mph even with non bent rims. We road forced balanced the rims we redid the alignment many times and nothing worked. The car felt very brittle compared to our 2010 C300 that we traded in for this car. The refresh feels way more substantial compared to ours. The car also had the wrist pin issue but that was fixed after the 2015 model year. Mbusa bought back the car but our dealer tried to brush us off and told us they wouldn’t touch the car anymore. I would go for the E class especially because of the 6 cylinder, I will never buy another 4 cylinder in a high end car especially a Mercedes, it feels wrong and it’s kinda embarrassing that a Toyota Camry with a 6 cylinder can smoke a C300.

W212 > W205.
E400 Coupe is a great car. Beautiful in design inside and out. Tons of performance. The W205 Coupe is ugly inside and out. It looks ill-proportioned as well. The 4 banger is weak and noisy too! The interior is kind of cheap as well. Basically you would be nuts to buy the W205 over the W212

Having owned a 2015 E350 (212) and having driven many pre-facelift C300's I would go with the 2016 E400 every time. While the interior may be a bit dated these days, the engine is strong and that chassis is great on the 212.

Having owned a w212 and currently a w205 450, I can say both have their strong suits. Of course the w205's interior is way better but I have to say the w212 felt substantial and sturdy on the road. The car was quiet and felt plush. The w205 creaks and rattles and although it is more nimble and modern looking, I do miss the cocoon interior.

Tough call. I love my C300, and had test driven a couple C400s prior to buying. The C400 was a blast, but the insurance rate was nearly double that of the C300.
I think the E with the 400 engine would be a great daily/cruiser, but would be a bit less sporty than the C. Had there been E400s on the market in my budget when I bought, it would've complicated the decision for sure.
IIRC, the W212 still has the prior gen infotainment, and I much prefer the updated version in the W205.

W205
You are 24 and single the coupe will look good on you. It looks more sporty and moderni. I didnt like the w212 which you sent it looks a typical family car. I am very happy with my w205 shown bellow. it combines luxury and sport at the same time.
I guess you live in Saudi Arabia make sure it has the GCC specs on it otherwise the heat will kill it.

for 2016 they updated the infotainment so it still had the some what dated interior but had the same command system as the C300.
