Integrating with Audio20
Sorry if this was covered but I didn't find it right away so it's easier to just ask
I have a 2018 with the basic Audio20. I want to upgrade the system but I have two questions:
1. Does the factory radio supply full range sound to the doors and they use passives on them to limit low end or does even the basic radio have built in crossovers? Amplified I can see having built in crossovers but was hoping not with the basic Audio20.
2. In the event that the Audio20 radio does indeed split the bandwidth between the doors and the frontbass woofer, does the headunit have a left frontbass signal output at the connector or does it really only have 4door + 1 woofer out? I would prefer to know before I get elbow deep into the console..
Thank you in advance..

Do a forum search - or Google - which will lead you back to a very extensive and thorough thread on what some have done.... not simple... but some real slick electronics out their like the Match 5P DSP/amp..

Thank you for the advice. I read the long thread on here but in that case people were upgrading the Burmester system with the outboard amp. I have done quite a bit of searching and have yet to find if there is indeed a source signal for the left frontbass or just the right one (I'm thinking the latter) and if the signal from the basic deck for the doors is full range or not. I seem to recall seeing a pic of a door speaker with a 100uf capacitor on it that makes me believe that the signal leaves the deck full range.

It appears "full range" (with roll off cap) to the door speakers - front door speakers can be "upgraded" by adding tweeter w/crossover to mirror triangles - replacing door speakers a issue since there are "few" replacement 4" speakers with the shallow depth - I haven't pulled the passenger side foot-panel woofer - but I would "suspect it "could" be similar setup

Excellent. Again, thank you for the information. I will likely put my Focal Flax 3way set in the front. The mids are tiny so they will be an easy fit and I was a professional car audio installer for a few decades so working with the firewall spots is not a problem.
What to do with the factory signal was the big question. I'll probably justgo with a JL FiX-82 anyway so it can take care of any factory EQ as well as any signal summing if needed.

It's the door speaker depth that is a issue - like "maybe" tad less than 2 1/2" if I recall correctly - you have a good attitude - sure all will all work out..
