hey guys this is my 1st post. I wanted to make sure I could help where possible. I have owned 4 mercedes now thru the years. here is a great update:
I got the dreaded p052e code. I waited 6 months to have it fixed. got it done 3 weeks ago for FREE! I went to a trusted shop of ex mercedes mechanics. they said to call mercedes as now this is a known problem and mercedes is calling it an "EXTENDED WARRANTY" I went to mercedes and they said yes we will fix it for free and give a loaner out until it is complete. mercedes told me that because so many people are having this problem on models from 2015-2019 around 90k-130k, they are trying to avoid an action lawsuit so they will fix it for free. i hope this helps!
also, I just got in the mail another one that says they will fix your intake line assembly, and/or the partial load ventilation valve for 2015-2020 C/E/GLC/SLC AND SLK Models for free as well. this one is an extended warranty up to 140k miles.
good luck, and hopefully you guys read this. let me know
I received the same code on my 2017 GLC with 82K miles and I'm taking it to the dealership here in Ohio. I'm worried they're going to want to charge me a ton of money to fix it. I'm curious to know if you called Mercedes directly or did a dealership tell you the problem is considered an "extended warranty?" I haven't received any information in the mail. I'm trying to get some supporting information or documentation to show my dealership it's considered an extended warranty. Any additional information would be helpful.
Thank you!
Just bought a used 2017 GLC 300 - 4 cyl- with 85,000. Didn’t get any warranty. Haven’t even made the 1st payment. Got the PO52e error today. Cleared the code by removing battery cables. Thoughts on what I should do??? Got it at a Volvo dealership.
Got CEL P052E [0x052E].
2018 GLC-300 30K on the odometer.
The dealership here in Manitoba Canada wants $2300.
Called MB Canada asking if they have a plan to fix that factory flaw as MB US did to their customers.
Very numb folks at MBenz Canada.
Benz - Never again.

Hi,
MB is covering the issue now in Canada. Just take it to any local MB dealership
I shared the US extended emission warranty documentation with them and requested that they process my VIN for service. Surprisingly, Mercedes-Benz Canada has recently begun covering the same issue under the extended warranty as well. Initially, the dealership service team was unaware of this. You can find the link to the US extended warranty here:MBUSA EW NCU Intake Line Assembly MY15-20 (nhtsa.gov). I recommend that you take the print out with you to show them as your dealership might still be unaware of this update

Hi all!
I have been following this thread and it has been amazingly informative so thank you to everyone who has taken the time to contribute. We just bought a used 2014 b250 with 157000km's on it and have just had the blasted light go on with this code. I read that some of you in MB and BC have been lucky enough to get MB Canada to pay for the fix. However MB doesnt seem to include the cars from 2014. Has anyone from ON with a car from this year had any luck with MB covering the cost? Any advice would be helpful - thanks in advance.
I absolutely love my GLC, but my check engine light went on last September due to this error code. According to my local service center, the parts are on "back order" with NO ETA. I call every week to check in, and they still tell me no ETA.
This has now caused problems with my DMV/Registration (you can't pass smog with a check engine light on) and I would like to sell my car and get a Tesla.
Has anyone else had this issue of the parts being back ordered with no ETA? I'm almost tempted to try another dealership in another state on the West Coast (if anyone else has had luck)? I'm SOO frustrated!!

Buy just the solenoid valve A2740181200 for $50 at Ali
and cut existing hoses and use hose clamps to connect into the location.

Since last September? That's a long time!
I'm also in the same situation and the dealership told me ETA is probably a month. Now I'm thinking perhaps that's not true...
P052E Engine Verification Code Mercedes Benz CLA250 2016
I want to share this information and I hope it will be of great help, 2 months ago the dreaded code P052E appeared, and after losing hope of being able to repair it myself or change a specific part I gave up and surrendered at the feet of the dealer to repair my car and pay the $ 1500 to $ 2000 in repair costs, in one of the searches I think I saw in this forum that someone commented that a friend changed the oil to 5w-30 and it worked for him and as a last option I decided to do it, the code completely disappeared I used full synthetic oil for cars with more than 75,000 miles 5w-30, I always used 0w-40 but for some reason this made it disappear, I hope it works for you
I recently had a check engine light warning light up. My 2018 C300 4matic has roughly 23,000 kms. I unscrewed and tightened the gas cap as I read it might be an issue and drove a few kms.
The check engine light did not light up or cleared after a day of driving. Maybe around 80kms total. I’m just observing it now as it is the 2nd day that it has been cleared.
I did scan my car using a OBD2 scanner that I borrowed today, It showed code P052E71 and P052E as stored.
I’m unsure if the code I read was due to the engine light warning a few days ago, or if it was an old code that wasn't cleared ( Bought the vehicle 4 years ago as a Certified Pre-Owned )
Not sure if Canada now covers this. I saw the letter above the thread, I believe I got something like that but unsure if this is what it is for.
Given the code just cleared automatically after driving, do I just observe for now?
Or should I contact already the dealership and mention this, and also show the letter?
Did you get yours diagnosed and checked by the dealer?
All done and no issues?
My car recently had the check engine light on, but then it went off after a day of driving. CODE P052E and CODE P052E71when I used my scanner.
I was just in contact with MB Canada and the response below in blue font.
It seems there should not be an issue to get it replaced.
--------------------------------- Hi Paul,
Thank you for contacting the Mercedes-Benz Canada Customer Assistance Centre (CAC).
Thank you for providing the re-call letter attachment. The intake line-Partial-load ventilation valve warranty has been issued to your vehicle as you have received letter for it. Your dealership will be able to repair the warranty components without any cost.
If you do not wish to proceed with diagnosis other than the re-call repair, once the repair is completed you can check if the error codes has been cleared.
I apologize that from our end we cannot provide information on error codes. We recommend dealership diagnosis so that the dealer can identify and resolve the issue.
Should you have any further questions regarding 09628976, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you,
Have a good day.

Does anyone have the notice that was sent out to Canadian Mercedes owners on this issue. I have the one that was sent out in the US but not canada. MB does not want to share it with me. it should be 15 year/241.000 kms in Canada as well extended warranty
I live in Nova Scotia and had the same issue with my 2016 C300 with around 100,000Km on it. O'Reagan Mercedes brought in the parts, gave me a rental for the day and fixed the
car under an extended warranty because of the ongoing issues with this part.
Check with the dealer before you put a lot of time and effort into this.
I believe they extended the millage and years of coverage.
Hope this helps
