Check Engine Code P052E
Check Engine Code P052E
Just got the dreaded check engine code P052E : Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve Performance. My car just got out of warranty a few months ago. Could someone please provide a WIS guide and parts list? I'm aware this is a very difficult repair.
Part number to fix this issue: 274-090-17-29-80. I attached a PDF diagram illustrating where part is located.
Updated complete part list:
274-090-17-29-80 - Intake Line
020-997-78-45 - Air Pipe O-Ring
024-997-80-45 - Inter-Cooler Seal
Q-1-03-0005 - Mercedes-Benz OEM coolant. Color: Pink. G40

I had the same code a few weeks ago, the light came on and off every few days until I was able to get it into the dealer. luckily my car was still under warranty so it was fixed for free, not sure how much it would have costsout of warranty, the service advisor did say this is a common problem with 2015 C300's.
This happened with our 15 and the same code. The check engine light sporadically appeared and it felt like warmer weather solved the issue. Possible the extended warranty paid itself off in this case. I feel sorry for anyone paying this out of pocket because based on the dealer work sheet this was a labor intensive fix.

I got a fantastic deal on a used 2015 C300 4matic this past August. - it only had 16,000 miles on it! I recently hit 32,000 miles (yes - I love this car and drive it a LOT) and I ended up with a P052E code. In my search for answers, I joined this forum and I found your posts for the PDFs which are very helpful. I'm planing on doing this fix myself and will likely tackle others in the future. Thank you for posting these PDFs - do you know if its possible and, if so, where I can get a copy of the full manual?

My light turned on and off 4 times the past month. The dealer said it's not an urgent fix and can wait til my next service. I'm trying to put it off since I'm out of warranty and they said it was around 1200 to fix because of 5 hours labor.
Same with my dealer. Bought a beautiful CPO 2016 with just under 39k miles on Saturday (one year of factory warranty remaining). CEL came on about two thirds into my 600-mile road trip home from buying the car. Dealer diagnosed P052E and told me there's nothing urgent unless the CEL starts blinking. They've scheduled me for next Monday (the next time loaners are available), but it still feels weird driving around with a CEL.
Better now than later i guess.
