Check Engine Code P052E
I am not sure if they go by the model or the engine.
Murf
Hi, I have a 2017 I bought in October 2020. I bought the extended warranty plan, and the car still has less than 25k miles. My check engine light was on, and this was the issue - but I am being told this is NOT covered under any warranty. Is this true? The dealer quoted my $900. The light went off before I went in for the diags, so wondering how urgent this repair is.

Former Benz tech here. Around July of 2025 roughly, benz just updated the repair procedure for your specific model. We no longer replace the whole assembly and instead just disconnect the electrical connector attached to the solenoid. Theres a dummy plug that clips onto the connector on the harness side. From there, theres updated software that basically just permanently disables the solenoid. You will not be able to update that software with any tech you have, its pretty much dealership exclusive with the Xentry Diagnostic tool. You can however do the dummy plug yourself, but its kinda rough. You'll need to remove the ECU and the plastic bracket it clips into. From there, you'll be able to see the solenoid kinda burried under the high pressure fuel pump on that driver side of the engine towards the rear. If you're good with your fingers and hands, you should be able to manage with an angled pick. After getting the dummy plug installed, tuck the connector back towards the engine and reinstall everything. You'll still have to go to a dealer to get the software updated. Hope this helps.

Do you have an m274 motor? If so, then yes. if you haven't had an issue so far, I wouldn't worry about it. If that code does pop up for you, I posted instructions on the new repair procedure that was just updated roughly around July of 2025 in this thread

It depends on life of the crankcase vent valve assembly. If its a one time occurrence for you, it will more than likely come back on and with increased severity. If you haven't had an issue so far, I wouldn't worry about it.
