Dreaded CEL light- with code P052e positive crankcase ventilation regularly valve. I’m out of bumper to bumper warranty, but have CPO warranty. Anyone have any ideas what this message means and if the repairs will be covered by the CPO warranty?
Thanks

I first got the code a couple of weeks ago. I cleared it and then it came back on it's own. Now it disappeared on it's own. My mechanic was quick to dismiss this code and told me to clear it. Said something about the weather triggering these issues. Part number is: 274-090-17-29-80 and my research has indicated that it starts to go out at 50-60,000 miles. $1500-2000 repair at dealer if you don't have warranty.

would you know if it’s covered by CPO / extended warranty?Originally Posted by Up_Not_Down

It should be, don't see why it wouldn't. It's a $270 part, no idea on the labor.Originally Posted by Elbandito

Yes, it's covered by CPO. I would get it done before you CPO runs out. It's a very expensive repair out of warranty.Originally Posted by Elbandito

I was able to install the crankcase vent line over the weekend using just a jack and 2 stands for all work that's necessary under the vehicle. After driving for 50 miles over the course of several drive cycles the P052e code hasn't returned and everything seems to be running smoothly. Ill update results at a later date but if any of you have questions about the job, feel free to ask.

Hi there, I have a P052e code too on my 2015 c300. I live near a local shop that lets you rent their lifts and tools to do your own work and I’m pretty handy so I was thinking of doing this myself. Could you please give me steps? It would be hugely appreciated to have a guide to go off of if I’m not too crazy for wanting to attempt this myself. Thanks!Originally Posted by Alex Tyler
