So I noticed that within seconds of starting my car the heat is hot. No need to wait for the car to warm up. I assume there must be an auxiliary electric heater. Is this standard or an option?

A lot of people have complained about the remote start not being reliable, but if you have instant heat anyway it seems like far less of an issue to me.

I've never seen it as an option, but my 2019 C has heat almost immediately. I had a 2015 C and it did not.

My TDI Jetta had an unadvertised auxiliary 1500 watt element in the heating system for quick defrosts. I assume if VW can have this, I'm sure MB can as well.

Agreed. I’m just surprised that apparently nobody else has this.
I also have the double pane front windows. These are used in S class and have been used in C class that had excessive wind noise. But there’s no record of them being installed as a service item. Even the people at the dealership seemed confused/impressed.

2016 C300 2015 VW TDI Golf 2006 MINI S
Mine starts with the warm air about 2 minutes after startup. Very nice when it is below freezing out. The double glazed glass as far as I can tell is only on the 16s. I have had 17s and 18s as loaners and they do not have it.

Roll the window down and look at the top edge. Mine are two panes of glass. You’ll definitely know if that’s the case. It’s easy to see.

I haven’t timed mine, but it’s within a block or so of my house. Much quicker than the motor is at temp.
