Did You Have Any Problems in Your First Yearof Ownership?
Long story short: I was thinking about getting a Tesla after driving 7 Mercedes since 1997. All were leased. I never drove on for more than 45,000 miles.
Instead of getting a Tesla, I got my 8th Mercedes.
I have been chatting with Tesla owners at the Tesla Motor Club. Many argue that a lot of owners have problems with other brands, but they don't complain on bulleting boards
After driving 8 Mercedes over 22 years, I can't recall one major problem occurring in the first year of ownership. (In fact, I can't recall a major problem with any Mercedes ever.)
So the question is, did you ever have any major problems with a new Mercedes in the first year of ownership? if so, when was it, and what was it?
Thanks!

All my MB's been rock solid. Most complain due to their own way of poor driving, taking care of vehicle and maintenance upkeep. Much like themselves with their own bodies will blame everyone else then go venting on "blogs". My question is why Tesla...

My present lease ends in 2022. By that time, I figure Mercedes will have an EV.

By EV you mean electric vehicles if that's what you seek then the visceral effect of driving is not for you. I personally can't stand the way the car market is heading with the nerd herd as their market target.

Correct. I do not drive a car for visceral effect. For me, it is from getting from point A to Point B in comfort, safety, and style.

Most of my driving is in bumper to bumper traffic, or on cruise control. I like a comfortable, stylish, reliable car. Mercedes fits the bill. (That's why I have leased 8 of them since 1997.)

Oddly, the car that I have driven that has the most "visceral effect" is the Tesla. There is something about the torque, and instant acceleration.

With that said, in 2022 (when my lease runs out), I am getting an EV. I hope MBZ has several by then.

Yes. I already decided not to get the Tesla. I was looking at the Hyundai Kona Ev for a while. In the end, however, I decided to get a C300 Coupe -- which is fantastic.
