Anyone else Modding the c300 w205?
I did record all of it and will uploading to YouTube shortly. So the only thing is the cars AMR tune is stuck in base stock tuning. So this was just the turbo and ecu sorting things out. What amazes me is how well it runs with no tune. Monday morning I’ll be in contact with AMR and we will get it sorted out.
As far as the number 1 cracked cylinder goes, I know when I first got the car it could get knocking bone stock. When I had it checked they believe it was on cylinder one. So adding methanol fixed the issue. I was always careful to pull out as soon as I heard knock. I really believe the longer you run these engines in stock form the more propensity they have to cracking a cylinder. But honestly if it cracks I’m not worried. I’ll build it to handle more power.
So where does that leave us?
I am looking at building my own manifold and a larger turbo that I can work with in the future, however I am not finding forged internal parts that will work on this engine. So until I can find parts that I can build up the engine with my hands are a bit tied. If anyone knows where I can get those internal parts from please let me know.
I just bought new rims and tires for the car so once I have those here and on I’ll run some times for you guys. Definitely beating the cammed camaro now in the 1/4 and I’m a car length off of a tuned S4 in the 1/4. the whole experience though is terrifying as I’m still on stock rims and tires. The rears are completely bald now.
I’m not disappointed at all with what I have gotten out of the car, it really moves now. AMR has been amazing and given me a ton of information on the engine that I didn’t know. I highly recommend them.
Going back to the piston one issues I have read about. It was due to ring gaps being too tight. As the engine heats up specially under high boost levels the ring pushes against isn’t self and buckles cracking the piston. This is a very similar effect you would get from running too much Nitrous on an engine with out
increasing ring gap. Later models did fix this known issue.
I have been looking at upgrading my methanol injector and running a little 50 shot just so I can beat that damned s4. We will see!
oh and YouTube channel should be up soon waiting for the rims so I can add that to the video.
cheers!

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I have installed:
FTP charge pipe
Weistec down pipe
My own custom exhaust
AEM Methanol injection
JB4 blue tooth on level 7 tune
H&R Springs
Installing this next week or the following
turbokits.com big turbo upgrade and full dyno tune.
once I finish the performance mods I’ll be moving on to looks and other features I wish I had.
one of them is the push button start has anyone retro fit this option?
um, thank you (bows) I’m doing BMS intake and the AMR tune with comport, charge and down pipes and no idea for exhaust. Don’t want civic 4 banger sound or full time nutty sound...happy medium? Without valved cost? And I’m curious of keeping the stock turbo housing but having the internals redone. Need to find that company offering it, I think the chassis and setup at the near 400hp mark would be fun. I’m dying to see what yours can do...
yeah no I don't have a dog in this fight but you want an AMR Tune not some random "tuner". Go with these guys ^^^
So to recap
Charge Pipe
Down Pipe
Turbo upgrade from Turbokits and the AMR tune pushed a little more then advertised
Took the JB4 system off and thinking about selling it now as it serves no purpose
Methanol injection starting at 10 psi and ramping up
H&R lowering springs
What really gave me the jump were the 265/35r19 federal 595 RS tires on the rear. they sticky AF, I couldn't get the traction I needed from the same size sport cup 2s
Right now I am working on either buying the Star Diagnostic with Vediamo and tuning my transmission myself or finding someone who tunes the 722.9 7g Tronic. I am running into torque limiters
which are holding me back after the 1/4 mile.
Also running into fuel issues. I replaced both pumps to see if that was my problem however is seems I still start to run lean on the top end and after the cars been at full boost for a bit.
My conclusion is I am running into the limitations of what the two pumps can handle on the c300.
I have a 1000 hp fuel pump I want to instal right into the back of the fuel rail where you test fuel pressure at, running my own lines separate from the stock system. I'm just hesitant as I'm not sure what it will do/break lol
Soon as I have a chance I'll upload some videos as, I race it every friday and saturday night. I did beat a 2014 c63 to the 1/8 before he started to go around me.
Also will be upgrading to an after market c63 heat exchanger for the front as well as a stronger coolant pump.

have you taken it to the dyno?

Thanks man! Once I know I’ve made the car as efficient as possible with the current setup yes I’ll go back and dyno it. Racing it all the time you start to see where areas of improvement could really change how the car performs charge air temps need to drop a lot with out the use of methanol. Watching in run down the track and feeling it loose it’s power mid way down the 1/4 it has to be running out of juice. I’m testing the lifter pump in the rear first this weekend. Fingers crossed that is where my issue is. If so I’ll install the bigger pump I have. If it’s not that then I’ll test the high pressure pump. If it’s the high pressure does anyone know of an upgrade for that pump? If that’s not where she’s falling. It has to be injectors which brings me to my question does anyone know of an injector and fuel rail upgrade for this car?
I have to get these issues worked out before the transmission tune in August.
As for the JB4 it does make a very nice difference. If you run methanol with it the car performs way better then stock. If I wasn’t half cocked and constantly trying to push the limits of everything I do. It would have been more then enough to make me happy with its performance.

Not sure if there are upgrades for our piezo injectors, for the HPFP you can look at the AMS or Spool Performance. They make upgrades for the A45, C43, C63s.
