Has anyone "Debadged" the model from your trunk?

Just wondering, i'm thinking of having my trunk debadged of the C300 model # written beside my logo. There's a ton of mercedes in my city and honestly i think the cars with it removed look kinda more sleeker and stand out a bit more to me. Anyone ever have this done on here? What are you thoughts on getting this done on your car?

I have a 2018 C300 W205 Sedan.

I think it used to even be a factory option. I don't see it much around here, the last one I saw was a debadged E63AMG S I think.w

Word of warning though. Since my car was already three years old when I removed the emblems, you can still see faint ghost lettering because the paint behind the emblems was less faded than the rest of the trunk.
It's more likely ghosting from the micro scratches on the paint around the emblems, not fading. Usually you can buff the paint to correct it and smooth it out again.

Some people like the look...some don't. I've always done it to all my MBs. I like the clean look. It's just a personal preference thing.

Scratch remover or rubbing compound will take care of that.

I had a BMW e90 that I debadged years back and I liked it. But now I think my taste has changed and prefer the stock look with all the badges in place minus anything that the dealer installed (dealer name crap).

My first thought whenever I see a de-badged car is "striver", can't afford the larger engine. I've seen some high line MB's as well but very few. Mostly in Europe.

Agreed. Personally, I’d never even consider de-badging my CLS. It’s a Benz—why would I attempt to remove the badge of a car I’m beyond proud to own?

Exactly, I've owned everything from a C to an S and never even thought about it.

I had my second C-Class debadged. It was on the purchase order (nothing tricky, just "DEBADGE"). I don't know whether the Alabama factory did it or my dealer. My wife is German, and once a year until 2018, we went back to Germany to see her family. At least a third, maybe a majority .of the cars there are debadged. Top-of-the-line Mercedes or 20-year-old French economy car, it doesn't matter. I never got a rationale; it's just a custom.

Just an opinion and observation. I'm not saying that applies to everyone that de-badges. Cheers.

So you buy a car so other people might form an opinion about you? Why would others need to know what engine is inside? You also display all the options on your car on the front window?
I think like you do if I see a normal Mercedes Benz with an amg badge

I’ve kept the window sticker which shows all of the options on my Benz. Whichever reminds me, can anyone recommend a good glue that’ll keep this proud sticker firmly affixed to the side window 😚?

After all these years I could care less what others think about my car. I just find that it is more common among the entry level engines of a certain line than the larger engine models. Not to say AMG owners don't take the moniker off as well but it's not as common. Also I prefer to keep my cars original. To each their own. Cheers.

the only debadged one I've seen was an E63 lol, but usually i think that too. The visual difference between AMG and non AMG is pretty subtle anyways

This is about the only free option you have when configuring your car. Anyway here it's most of all the high end engine line that is without badge as people driving a lower end engine in many cases either don't care or drive a leasing car from work

Well you wouldn't remove the star because you'd be left with three holes.

I don't get how people can get worked up about what's on the back of someone else's car.
