2019 c300 illuminated star install

I have called about 5 dealers.
My most local dealer was not kind. They don’t give out part numbers. What a crock.
The other 4 were helpful with the part number. But left me confused.
I asked for the wiring harness needed for the illuminated star and any control unit or whatever.
The gave me 205817570. And confirmed I only need the star and nothing else. It comes with everything needed.

Well I have it and installed it on the grill. I have no idea where it plugs into.
Anyone have any idea what I should do? Is there a hidden plug or something in this model?

I want to install it like factory if possible. Only on when locking/unlocking, not all the time.

The dealer quoted me anywhere from $200 (for them to just plug it in) to $700 for them to wire the whole thing (if needed). That’s kind of insane.

I have mine on when the car is on, and although not factory, I just used an add a fuse and wired to a hot when on spot on the fuse box. Really wasn't difficult. LMK if you want help with that.

I know you said you wanted to just have it on when you lock/unlock/courtesy, not sure if there a fuse you could piggyback off of for that or not. I think there is some info on how to do that on the site though.

I finally got around to wiring the illuminated star in. I love the look!
I ended up using a OEM star and a OEM harness.
The harness was great for the plug end to the star, the other end was useless. Had to cut it and tap into the fuse block.
Now mine is like yours, always on when the car is on. I used F123.
But would love to know if there is any fuse that I can tap into so its on only when the headlights are on. Not all the time.

Mine came with the whole lot. I assume you bought the star without its harness?

I wired mine directly on the right DRL. It was a quick job. It turns on when i click the FOB. I also added a soft start and delay circuit. See the video attached.

here was how I wired it:

I think most people want the star light OFF during the daytime. I guess this is for the longevity of the LED. In my opinion this is nothing to worry about because LEDs last very very long. Properly designed, they will likely outlast the car.
Some people only want the Star light on when entering and leaving the car, not while driving. I think this was because MB initially thought that having a third round light while driving can cause your car to be confused with something else. But it seems MB sorted that out with the authorities.
The delay circuit you can buy here:

That's brilliant and all but you cannot do that with W205, any headlights from LED up use CANBUS to turn on/off and not voltage, as a matter of fact they get constant 12V.
