Hey guys, got my 2021 C43 not too long ago and I seem to have run into a problem. For context, my car is vinyl wrapped professionally, and has a side mounted front license plate and a JB4 piggyback tune + wheel spacers. These are all the modifications I've done to the vehicle. The issue is that the "OFF Parktronic" symbol is permanently on in the digital cluster area and whenever I start my car and reverse/drive the 360 sensors go crazy for like 2-3 seconds and light up red before going back to normal. The sensors also don't operate properly (if you stand in front or behind the car the sensors fail to detect that anything is there). The designated parktronic on/off button lights up all the sensors red and goes crazy (just rings for 2-3 seconds) as well and doesn't work. Sometimes mid-drive the OFF symbol disappears on the cluster and everything seems normal again and the designated button functions again but shortly goes back to having issues. Initially I suspected that the vinyl I had was interfering with the sensors so I had the sensor circles trimmed and removed exposing the sensor itself as it would be normally and this didn't fix the issue.I also had the battery disconnected from the car for 30 minutes, reconnected and drove half a day afterwards with the exposed sensors and this didn't fix it either I'm kind of out of options at this point and upon taking it to the dealer they said it would cost nearly $300 for a diagonistics fee and they probably wouldn't be covering the cost to fix this under warranty as it's mostly due to an external factor. I'm just trying to explore my options and seek some more opinions or anyone who's experienced something similar before taking it to the dealer to fix.

Hello, I have the GLE AMG 53 and I have this problem. It is not wrapped so nothing could be affecting the sensors. It has done this since I got it brand new. The car has been in the shop 6 times and they cannot figure it out. Any update on yours?

 

if they can’t get your car working properly, they should replace it. Has MBUSA been involved?

 

What region/state/country do you live? When was the last time the system was used and it functioned correctly?

 

i live in Texas. It works most of the time but in the last 3 weeks it’s failed 3 times. The jerking is every time I drive it.

 

Thanks. So not from snow/salt residue, correct? I would scan for codes. Not sure if XENTRY is used on your vehicle. If the dealer can't find the problem my guess is they aren't trying very hard. "Not found" is the most common response from MB service employees.

 

correct, no snow salt residue. I agree just seems odd I sent them a video of exactly what it does but they cannot recreate it so nothing is being done. Thanks for your info!
